Chase to Retire ‘Chase Offers’ on March 31

Chase is apparently ending their Chase Offers program which rolled out a few months ago on the Slate and Marriott cards. I don’t have these cards, but Bethany at Milestomemories noticed a note in her login:

“Welcome to Chase Offers where you’ll find offers from brands you love through March 31, 2018. Final days to enroll and save at your favorite merchants.”

I reached out to @ChaseSupport and they confirmed the program will be ending:

It’s still not certain in my mind that they are done for good as it’s possible they want to evaluate the data to see whether to roll out the program on all cards or simply retire it for good. We’ll see. In any case, for now it looks like it’ll be gone after March 31.

Good riddance! Chase Offers terms are horrendous in terms of them disclosing ALL my Chase-Slate transactions, upto a Years’, to the offer-sponsoring Merchants! Those Merchants get my data for the petty-peanuts they offer; and that too I had to click on each of those dumb-peanuts-offers and THEN go and make a purchase – akin to how AMEX Gold Card forces its Members to first click and then go purchase. Also, who the heck will even remember what offers you had clicked on! Stupid Amex and stupid Chase people.

Noticed the note quite a few days ago. Their system didn’t seem to be all that good at tracking purchases based on my experience. My entirely organic purchases failed to trigger the offers on two occasions. And it took an email and a couple of weeks to resolve the issue in each case.

That’s too bad as I actually used the cards more because of it. Back to the drawer they go.

There were a few decent offers- but the fact that you had to remember to go to a totally different site to check offers and register destined this to failure. If they want the program to be successful they need to make it easy to register like Amex does.

Bummer. I used the Stubhub and Ebags offers.

That’s a shame. This was actually pretty sweet. There was some nice ones, like 40% at Whole foods (buy $25 get $10 back)

Right? There were definitely offers I would have used but I don’t have Slate or Marriott either.

I didn’t even have the chance to taste it. They’re menu offerings are not good anyway.
