Our Verdict

This offer was offered last year as well. Standard bonus is 60,000 miles. It used to be possible to apply for an offer with a statement credit and then match to the higher miles offer but that hasn’t been possible for a long time now so this is the best variation for this card.

Just be sure you qualify for the bonus (have not received in past 48 months) before signing up or you won’t get the bonus. We will add this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

Current offer seems to be $400 + 30,000 Bonus miles after $1,500 spend in 3 months.

What is your opinion on the current offer DoC?  William Charles

Just got a mailer with 80K advertised. P1 and P2 just applied before it went dead. I’m going to call and see if they will honor the 80K over the 75K.

I thought this card used to allow us to get points back(10% back?) if we redeem points for the flight. Is this still the case? thanks.

75k is officially dead as of 4/10, as advertised. Any links still working? I totally goofed and let the deadline slip.

I called the Citi Applications number and they will not honor the old offer unfortunately.

Checked the pre-qualified tool and was showing as pre-qualified for all the personal AA cards. Was approved, 75k offer was still good as of 11pm PST on 4/9

Could I apply for the AA platinum card for the bonus then after a year or so close it then apply for the citi premier for its bonus? Thanks.

DP: I was surprised to be approved for this card on 2025/02/13 when I applied for it after like the third/fourth attempt. I recently completed the spend requirement and received the bonus (75,000 miles).

When I got approved for this card, I was right at 5/24. (This card made me 6/24.) Credit score is 769 (TransUnion) or 805 (Equifax).

It appears that the miles post shortly after meeting the spend requirement and not necessarily when you pay off the card, but I could be wrong. I see that the miles posted, but not can’t see the exact day they posted.

In the past year-ish, I’ve also applied for, gotten approved for, and received the bonuses on the following cards:

Barclays Aviator Red World Elite Mastercard
(75,000 miles, approved 2024/01/30).

Citi/AAdvantage Business World Elite Mastercard
(75,000 miles, approved 2024/05/30).

So it appears that you can get all three AAdvantage-related bonuses (Barclays, Citi personal, and Citi business) in roughly 14 months.

Really appreciated these miles when I visited an old friend last fall, and most of the rest will come in handy for anticipated travel with family this year. Thanks so much as always, Doc.
