Our Verdict

This card was recently at 60,000 for $3k spend, and a lot of people were getting matched the 75k bonus while keeping the low $3k spend. That offer is gone now, so either the 70k or 75k offer is the way to go. If you choose the 70k offer with lower spend, you may be able to get matched to the 75k offer. There is also a 60,000 mile offer on the personal card.

This offer contains the following language: “This card is not available if the business already has a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select®World Mastercard® card. Bonus miles are not available if you have had any CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® card opened or closed in the past 24 months.” This rule is discussed in more detail here. Note the business card bonus only takes into account if you’ve had the business card and the personal card only takes into account if you had the personal card.

One of the issues people have had with American Airlines recently is the lack of saver award space, they have flagged this as something that will be fixed in the future, but YMMV on how much of a difference that actually makes.

If you have any questions about this card or Citi cards in general, please read this post first as it most likely answers them. We’ll add this to the list of the best business credit card bonuses. As always feel free to share your thoughts on this card/bonus in the comments.

I applied for and was approved for a personal AAdvantage card yesterday and made a mistake and applied for the business version right away on the same day without realizing Citi only allows 1 per day. The application went to pending….can call in but would I need to reapply today? Or just call in and see what happens? Thanks!

Wait and let the business app resolve itself before applying again.

Does anyone know if you apply for the 40,000 miles + $250 statement credit, you can match to the 75K offer? This is for the Citi AA biz card. Thanks!

Thinking about applying for one of these offers. Will I have to create a new business AA account to hold the points, or can I use my existing personal American Airlines account?

Do Citi business credit cards count towards Chase’s 5/24 rule?

Signed up for the 70k/$4k spend offer. SM’d for a match yesterday and they said they will add 5k to the account.

That is great. I was trying to choose between the 70k and the 75k offer.

I just spent $200 in a gift card so I can get the bonus, hope the gift card qualifies.

So if I understand it correctly, these offers are not as good as the $200 credit offer we had recently, correct?
Thanks.

I’d agree. I took advantage of the 50,000 mile + $200 statement credit and got matched to 70,000 for only $3k spend.
