Citi Honoring No Minimum Spend Deals – But Require Screenshot

Over Christmas a number of Citi credit cards appeared to offer their regular sign up bonuses, but they didn’t come with a minimum spend requirement. It looked like and was a glitch (usually if there is no minimum spend it’ll say bonus after first purchase and these said bonus after $0 in spending within three months).

A few readers have e-mailed me to let me know that Citi was willing to honor the deal, but only if they were able to provide a screenshot of the offer they signed up with. Unfortunately I didn’t take any screenshots of these offers, so feel free to share any you might have in the comments (I’ll update this post as they come in).

Has anyone had this resolved? I faxed and secure messaged them a screen shot and they replied that it is a known issue and they would respond via mail only, with no timeline for a resolution.

Nope and I have sent 2 messages asking what the decision was and got same canned response. Seems like they are dragging their feet hoping people just drop it. If you don’t wanna offer it then offer like 5k in points as an apology or something but there is no reason it should take 2 weeks plus to make a decision on something so black and white.

If I knew they wouldn’t honor it I would have rather signed up for the Premiere.

I sent them a secure message and also last week I mailed them a hard copy of the screenshots of their website showing the offer. If they don’t honor it I will just stick with Chase from now on. I prefer Ultimate rewards point better anyway.

I sent them another secure message seeing if they have an update on the “investigation” and they responded nothing yet but we will email you when we do….probably after the 3 months is up!

Hi,

I applied for the 50K offer on the citi executive card and can confirm they are honoring the deal. Had to jump through a few hoops but in the end they said they don’t have a time frame by when the points will post, but it will happen. So this seems to be great!

I went ahead and made a ~$1450 estimated tax payment plus a few other charges to get to $1500. Too impatient to see if this would be resolved.
