Might be a fluke, but I thought I’d share. My E-Z Pass toll processed a $25 top-up charge and I received 225 points (1X All Other Purchases 25pts, 4X Promotional Bonus 100pts, 4X Promotional Bonus 100pts). It appears that this charge double dipped and gave me 9x points total on both the online bonus promo and the mass transit promo!

Verified via phone (TY Rewards, not bank side) that this is retroactive to purchases made since 9/25 and the 7500 point limit is totally separate from the 7500 point limit on last summer’s deal. Rep also said that points this time should post at the end of the billing cycle, unlike last time when they just showed 5x as soon as the charge posted.

In other news, I found a Citi rep who was knowledgeable about promotions, pleasant, and helpful.

Odd DP: Paying Verizon Wireless via PayPal Key on the My Verizon site categorizes as cellular services and doesn’t qualify for 5x. Paying directly using their phone system triggered 5x last summer.

This must be targeted. I spent $1.51 on Amazon.com on Oct. 12, which posted on Oct. 13. Only earned 2 points.

I’m having the same issue, I got an email saying I’m enrolled but all my online purchases are only crediting 1x. I just checked and my extra points did post as “promotional” at statement end as the rep suggested.

Huh? How did you find this out????? Is there a way to know if I am signed up for this without putting a charge on my card? I haven’t gotten any notification and I don’t see anything on my account page that shows this.

Gotta do a lot more to keep me. This card was AMAZING years ago. It went downhill quickly. Can’t justify the AF anymore, even with the 4th night free. AF comes due in November… I’m out.

Citi Prestige used to be very best credit card 5-6 years ago. Now, it’s no longer keeper with the increase annual fee, the remove of benefits and unable to use the 4th night free from some small hotels and/or benefits from your hotel status.

If Citi wants to keep people from leaving, they need to make the 5x for ALL purchases and make it permanent.

Considering that 3% cards are unicorns, I wouldn’t expect to see a 5% card.
I agree it’s been devalued, but the Prestige is still a solid card. If you stay at one $250/night hotel for 4 nights once a year it’s paid for itself, even if you sock drawer it otherwise. Let’s not forget:
-Highest earning on dining.
-Highest earning on OTAs. Super valuable for those who have to book via their office’s agency or the Hotels.com optimizers.
-Travel credit is easy to use (looking at you, AmEx), and while it’s $50 less than CSR, the annual fee is $55 less.
-Points are easy to redeem as cash, or with decent transfer partners.
-3x hotels or cruises isn’t quite as good as CSR or AmEx Green, but it’s better than the Platinum’s 1x.
-Its Priority Pass lets you bring two guests.
All for the low price of $245 and having to deal with Citibank.

Do people really spend that much in streaming to make these categories worth it? I spend like 20 bucks a month tops.

This is on all online purchases. Last summer it worked for Amazon, utilities, car insurance, a laptop, eBay, parking via an app, literally anything you paid for online.

Citi being Citi. Better late than never.

Higher annual fee with less benefits. Sounds like a keeper. I use to rock this card with the Citi Gold $350 annual fee for years even after I moved my assets from Citi. $250 travel credit with Global Entry, etc. made the card worth it. I dropped this card like 3rd period French. Au revoir! Adieu Citi Prestige!
