Our Verdict
An easy promotion to complete if you already have a Coinbase account established. You can HODL, trade, or sell almost immediately after completing the lessons.
Some get waitlisted when signing up; often the wait is only a few days. Using a referral may lower the chance of getting waitlisted (small sample – only a few DPs).

After I earn the coins from Coinbase, even I don’t sell ; do I have to report it on my tax return?
I’m not a tax accountant and not familiar with all the rules and regulations.
I think all income received may need to be reported. At $12, I don’t believe Coinbase generates any specific tax form (I haven’t received one in the past).
There is a question when filing if you own cryptocurrency, and I believe you report sales as capital gains like stocks.
They require us to send in photo id to set up an account, is it safe?
There is always some risk when giving out your personal information. We’ve definitely seen a lot of data breaches at even the largest companies.
There may be additional risks in the crypto space.
That being said, Coinbase is one of the most established players in the space and has secured a NY Bit License https://blog.coinbase.com/coinbase-obtains-the-bitlicense-f1c3e35c4d75 which is to the best of my knowledge the highest standard in the industry.
