it’s a service that allows you to buy movie tickets in advance and select seats (if theater allows) across multiple theater chains. since its a relatively new service, accepts chase pay, and partners with t-mobile, there’s been frequent deals. no stand alone loyalty program. can’t use moviepass on it. that’s it.

fandango doesn’t offer nearly as many deals as Atom
i haven’t used all the ones recently, but the ones i did were super good (some were stacked too) – $3 off (google guides offer), $7 off with chase pay, $4 ticket to red sparrow (tmobile offer). i have amc stubs premiere so the convenience fee is waived as well. the only gripe i have is that nearby theatres are limited to amc and i can’t get points for purchases through atom

thanks for the info. yea i use AMC stubs premier as well and just buy direct from AMC cutting out any 3rd party provider issues when i have problems. thats why i dont use fandango anymore. amc customer service 24/7 just handles it asap and i rack up the points from overpriced shit. but if atom has so many deals on the actual ticket price, i guess i should use atom w/ moviepass as available tools to reduce overall price vs buying direct.

One other thing- as of the last time I used Atom (around September or Pctober of 2017) you can’t use Regal or any other theater’s gift card with Atom as payment. With Fandango you can. I think there was a few cents difference in fees too but pretty negligible.

i see. so pretty much one should have all the movie ticket platforms just like having different CC for various situations. makes sense.

Regarding the use of Discover at Costco; Visa is the only credit card accepted at Costco.

In terms of per ticket price (without IMAX or 3D), is it cheaper than the AMC pass $35.99 for 4? ($9 per ticket)

atom can be used to buy tickets for AMC (and if you are a stubs member, you don’t pay the fee) so, to me, it’s a no brainer. Also, if you are in your first year of discover, you get 10% back instead of 5%.
