The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Delta has another flash sale, this time both cash and award tickets are on sale. This sale is for first class domestic tickets. You must book by January 29, 2019 for travel from April 19 to April 27, 2019. Flights start at 17,500 miles or $209 one way, but you must book a round trip ticket.

Our Verdict

I personally think that first class domestic is a waste of money, but maybe others disagree. Pricing doesn’t seem to be particularly eye catching either.

I don’t mind burning American or Delta miles on domestic first class, but I wouldn’t transfer AMEX points for this. I think it’s definitely something to think about if you’re on a transcontinental route or even in the four hour length. The seats are a lot more comfortable, and I like getting unlimited alcohol. I would never buy it though, points only!

Trash airport options. Honestly not worth looking at their deals given how rare actual good options are

I used to agree re: waste of money, but I’m 6’2″ 240 lbs, and I get tired of having to lean into the aisle whilst simultaneously getting hip checked by each flight attendant that flies by.

As a fellow tall person I agree. When I evaluate a domestic ticket it always in terms of extra legroom economy vs business/first. And even then the legroom options for both categories are getting smaller. 35k RT FL is approx what I pay to get across country from non-major airports on a good comfort+ deal so if I needed to travel these dates and hadn’t booked and it applied to my airports I’d jump on this.
