Delta Flash Sale Expired? Discounted Pricing Still Showing & Other Tips

Delta has recently started offering a lot of discounted award flights as flash sales. I’ve noticed two things that I think are worth mentioning:

  • Even after an award sale has finished, the discounted pricing often continues to show up. For example Hong Kong was discounted to 30,000 miles round trip but that deal was supposed to expire on September 5th. I’m still seeing that discounted pricing from LAX To HKG

  • The travel from/by dates aren’t fixed. Usually the sales say that you have to travel between two dates (e.g from September 13th until December 2nd), in reality you can usually find the same pricing for other dates near those listed dates.

Obviously not the most ground breaking information ever, but it should be helpful for people with a stockpile of Delta miles looking into these flash sales. 10

30,000 to go to Hong Kong is cheap! I have the miles, but just don’t have the time right now!

Any tips for avoiding the miles redoposit fee? I booked an award trip but with these flash sales I’m seeing better redemption and trying to figure out how to rebook with lower miles.

Platinum Elite get waived redeposit fee. If you are close you might want to manufacturer some status.
