The Discover it card earns 5% cash back in rotating categories that change each quarter (you’re limited to $1,500 in spend per quarter). At the start of each year, they give us a hint as to what each quarter’s categories will be and then closer to the date they release the actual category. We’ve known that quarter three will be “summer spruce up and more” for awhile now, but they’ve released the actual 5% categories now as well. They are as follows:
None of these categories are particularly exciting for me, Amazon is probably the only one I’d actually use but I already earn 5% there with the Barclaycard Sallie Mae.
