Our Verdict

Topcashback runs this offer with us semi regularly, this is the highest sign up bonus they have offered. Previous best was $20 and that was also only available to our readers, normal bonus is $10 or nothing. The reason the bonus is higher than normal is that we don’t receive anything if you sign up for this offer, instead we’ve passed the full $25 to our readers. We always try to do these types of deals with companies, but very few show any interest. One of the reasons I love Topcashback is they have the same mindset as we do, they give users 100% of a store’s commission back as cash back. They make money through separate advertising banners  ‘our list stores’ among other ways. I find that Topcashback rates are consistently better than other shopping portals and it’s the portal I use the most often.

If you want to see more brands & websites offer our readers increased bonuses like this then there are two things you can do:

  • Sign up if you don’t have have an account
  • Share this with others

You can view our full review of Topcashback by clicking here. I know some readers have had issues in the past, keep in mind money earned from Topcashback doesn’t become payable until they receive the money from the merchant so the wait times can be longer than other sites. I think the increased cashback rates are worth the wait times, but YMMV. As always make sure you follow our tips to ensure portals track correctly. If you have any unresolved issues with TCB then submit a support request here. They will also be in the comments section answering any questions readers might have.

William Charles Your second link, right below “Our Verdict” is wrong. It seems to link to your old offer. I used it by accident, not sure if I’ll get the $25 reward. Oh well.

Chuck

Ah, ugh, yeah, I deleted that link now. Thanks. Hopefully it tracks. If not, I’m hopeful they’ll be able to adjust it upon request.

So it’s safe to assume multiple accounts for TopCashBack is fine? You haven’t been shut down at all?

TopCashback Support

Hi George,

Multiple accounts is against our terms and conditions so I’d have to advise against this. Any duplicate accounts will be closed by ourselves if seen to be abusing these sign up bonuses.

Thanks,
Jack

TopCashback Support is this deal definitely dead? One page on the tcb site implies that its still active, but another page shows that the deadline has already passed. Which is accurate?

Any suggestions of how on easy way to spend 10$ to easily qualify for the bonus?

Eddy Cue

Not spend but earn $10. No easy ways – you gotta spend money to make money. A few suggestions that may be applicable to you:
1. Dell – if you have the Amex Platinum card, they offer a $100 credit to spend at Dell twice a year. Dell is currently at 10% CB at TCB so if you buy $100 worth of goods, you get $10 back in CB (and meet the threshold).
2. If you have any travel plans, Booking.com is also at 10% CB. So spend $100 and hit the $10 mark
3. If your home needs a makeover, Home Depot is at 12%
4. If you need a new wireless provider or new cable or internet provider, Verizon FIOS is offering cashback from $45 – $150 if you sign up (I recently switched internet service from Comcast to FIOS and have $80 CB pending on my account)

Those are a few ways you can hit the minimum threshold

Raise for gift cards. It is usually 5% but sometimes higher, and depending on the gc brand you can get a good deal on the gc itself.

Chris

Raise for a discounted giftcard? As a new Raise customer you could even score added discounts.

Much easier for them to pocket the referral, deny your $10 cashback, and of course also deny the bonus than for you to get anything from top cash back.

TopCashback Support

Hi Nick,

We don’t deny any cashback that tracks to your account. This decision will come from the retailer. We do have a claims process that can usually be followed and it’ll allow you to chase up any amounts which don’t track or get declined.

can we have more than one TCB account? I read the terms and was a little confused about spouses having an account and whatnot

MIck

Just a word of caution, i’ve had problems getting credit for purchases through their portal. Ebates did a consistently better job of getting things right.

Exactly the same experience here.

Please do yourself a favor and check real users’ comments under other DOC posts about TCB, as well as BBB (Better Business Bureau)’s review and compliant recordings about TCB (Spoiler: not BBB accredited.), before you click through TCB due to their shiny luring rates and get no cashback but only TCB’s ridiculous excuses as of why they need to pocket the whole referral fee and give you $0.

TopCashback Support

Hi Nick,

We wouldn’t pocket anything here. The referral bonuses are being paid for by ourselves and any declined cashback is the decision of the retailer. Whilst It’s always frustrating when a bad experience happens but we will always try to correct this if we can through claims or explain to you if possible why it happened. There are people sharing bad experiences but there is also people sharing positive ones. We see lots of cashback track through and pay out $1,000s to our members each day.

Thanks,
Jack

Your damage control post full of empty statements and no willingness to address any real issue is a great example of what users can expect from top cash back’s “customer service” folks. Well done!

TopCashback Support

Hi Mick,

The cashback in your account is reported to us by the retailer and if this was declined or untracked, it’s usually because the retailer has decided this. We only reflect what we’re being passed across. It’s always worth a read through the terms and conditions if this happens to make sure everything was met but we do also have the claims process which would allow you to chase this up further with the retailer in most cases.

If there is anything I can help you with, please do feel free to contact us through your account and we’d be happy to take a further look.

Thanks,
Jack

Again, excellent example of what can and should be expected from topcashback’s “customer service” should there be any issue.

Large chunks of copied ‘statements’ and no offering/willingness to resolve any issue (because topcashback can and will care less about you or your issues with them once you clicked through and they pocketed the referral).

Liface

If they actually supported logging in via Firefox, that would be great.

qmc

I’m logged in with Firefox … Do you perhaps have content blocking off some sort on?

TopCashback Support

Hi Liface,

You shouldn’t have any trouble with FireFox. I’d suggest checking for Adblocker software or other add ons as qmc suggests below. Maybe try an incognito window as well if you can.

I hope this helps,
Jack

I got this the last time DoC posted this (thanks DoC). It did take a while to earn the $10, but I’ve mainly switched over to TopCashBack from Ebates because it consistently has higher cashback rates. TCB also runs promotions from time to time where you can pick up an extra $.25 or $.50 by finding “clues” on their website.

With that being said, have to agree with other users about Ebates being much more lenient and easier to track. I have a dedicated IE browser that I used when shopping through TCB where the firewall is off and cookies are allowed to be tracked.

TopCashback Support

Hi Chloe,

It’s great to hear about your experience with us and that it’s mainly a positive one! We do take slightly longer sometimes to pay cashback, this is true! However, this is what allows us to offer those higher rates to our members. Other cashback sites might keep a portion of your cashback so they can easily pay off any declined cashback in the future. At TopCashback, we prefer to give you as much as possible to start with but it does mean we need to wait for the payment from the retailer.

I hope this helps,
Jack

Lost cash back and the $5 Topcashback shopping bonus last month because Walmart apparently decided not to pay on a purchase because it included non eligible food items which is BS since I did make a $17 eligible purchase in the order – had to make a $15 purchase for the $5 TCB bonus. I’ve opened a claim even though TCB says they can’t or won’t investigate Walmart for declined purchases. TCB should do the right thing and pay me the $5 bonus because I can provide proof that I did meet the purchase requirement even though Walmart declined the overall purchase.

I signed up with a $25 offer (different site) a couple months ago and just hit the $10 threshold. The bonus went from “pending” to “confirmed”; how long until it goes to “payable”? I’m past 7 weeks from the sign-up date, if that matters.

As far as tracking is concerned, I’ve only had 1 transaction out of 13 not appear in Earnings (the visit tracked, and the claim is still open). So I’d say TCB is pretty damn reliable.

Thanks for this! I’m new to TopCashback (and shopping portals in general). On Monday I was able to snag some Walmart gift cards, but the discounted ones were scarce, due to the 7% Cashback deal, I presume. I only bought discounted ones due the to the statement, “Gift cards purchased via ‘Raise Pay’ are ineligible for cash back” combined with “Get 0.50% back in Raise Cash instantly when you buy Walmart gift cards at face value,” so I wasn’t sure what would happen. I see another DoC article about 20% offered one day earlier this month, so I’m planning for the future.

– Does anybody know if Cashback applies to cards purchased at face value?

– I’m guessing the 0.50% back in Raise Cash applies to subsequent purchases. Is that correct?

– How does Raise Cash affect Cashback? For example, does it completely eliminate Cashback on any transaction with Raise Cash or is Cashback only on the portion not covered by Raise Cash?

– Are the face value cards essentially unlimited? That is, the next time there’s a big promotion, can I just keep buying those until I’ve spent the remainder of my $5000 lifetime TopCashback limit? For me, easily getting a 0.5% discount would be preferable to struggling to get 0.9% as I did on Monday; the real money is in the Cashback.

– Does the $5000 lifetime limit apply just to TopCashback, or across all shopping portals? That is, once I’ve max’ed out my Raise.com earnings at TopCashback, can I just switch to another portal?

– What are the rules about multiple accounts? I think I saw something here on DoC where you’re not allowed to create multiple accounts, but is it OK for my wife to create an account?

– Given that there’s a $5000 lifetime limit, it seems like I’d be better off waiting for a promotion. What am I likely to see if I’m patient (i.e., what percentage and how frequently)?

FYI – I’m asking also asking the TopCashback specific questions in a support ticket; I’ll report the responses back here.

Thanks in advance,
Xandy

Chuck

Raise Pay and Raise Cash are the same thing. No portal rewards on Raise Cash/Pay purchases.
Yeah, the Raise Cash .5% is toward future purchase.
Lifetime limits are across all portals.
Topcashback allows spouses to have separate accounts.

Xandy
Xandy

Thanks! I don’t mean to be dense, but I’m still unclear on what constitutes a a “Raise Cash/Pay purchase.” Specifically:

– If I have $0 in Raise Cash and purchase a $100 Walmart gift card at face value, earning $0.50 in Raise Cash, would I get Cashback? (Another way of asking this is, are transactions excluded where you earn Raise Cash, or only where you use Raise Cash?)

– If I have $0.50 in Raise Cash from the previous purchase, buy another $100 Walmart gift card at face value, and apply the $0.50, would I get Cashback on the other $99.50?

– If I have $0.50 in Raise Cash from the previous purchase, is it possible to make a purchase without using the Raise Cash? If so, would such a purchase earn Cashback?

Thanks,
Xandy

Personally, I don’t think the increased cashback rates are worth the wait times. It just takes too long.
