Domino’s: Free Pizza (Med 2 Topping) For Taking 6 Pictures Of Any Pizza

Just a friendly reminder that this offer is still available.

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Domino’s is offering 10 points for scanning a pizza (can be any pizza, doesn’t have to be domino’s). You can redeem 60 points for 1 free medium 2-topping hand tossed domino’s pizza.

The Fine Print

Our Verdict

Free pizza is the best type of pizza there is, even if it’s Domino’s. Keep in mind this doesn’t start until the weekend. As always for more free pizza/food deals you can view a full list here. If you like deals like this then show your support by giving us a like or retweet on Twitter.

So you can take a picture of a picture, making this super easy to do. I’d take pictures of a pizza that I wish that came out of a Domino’s box.

Part of me is sad though… that we are using technology to identify pizza. Was this a problem that needed solving? 🙂

Maybe they’re trying to make a joke on the “Not Hotdog” app from “Silicon Valley”…

maybe, just maybe, they’re curating a training dataset with topping/sauce/etc features from us 😀

This may be a way for the national office to Quality Check the local stores.
Until they moved recently, there was some inconsistency in the pizzas I got from them.

There is no points for pies in the appp

If you can’t find it in the app, looks like it won’t start until February 2nd. Guess there will be an update with the button showing.

FYI, at least some areas also allow the redemption of 60 points for a gluten-free (small) pizza.

Can this be used multiple times if all it takes is 60 points (10 points per pie)? Could you potentially keep scanning pizzas for points?

Looks like it’s 10 points per week with the first “week” being the upcoming 2 days this weekend. Other weeks are the usual 7 days. So it’ll take 6 weeks (really about 5 weeks with the shortened 1st week). At least that’s how I read it

I just reheated some Domino’s pizza in the microwave. The app won’t recognize it as pizza, lol. I tried so many times that the pizza was cold by the time I gave up.

Same issue here – wouldn’t recognize after several attempts.

ETA – I tried one more time with the image currently on their FB page and it worked nearly immediately! I”m thinking it needed toppings for the AI to detect – plain cheese doesn’t trigger it.

Same experience. I tried scanning a frozen pizza with no luck. I scanned online pictures from my computer monitor and finally had luck on my 4th or 5th one.

I chose pictures that were straight on rather than at an angle. I bookmarked one that worked for me in case I need it again later. I expect their APP to strongly irritate some people.

This promotion is a borderline scam. You have to scan a pizza 6 times over their 13 ‘week’ period. Limit one scan per period. 1. Each “week,” the points become available at 12 PM Pacific time. / 3 am Eastern time Sunday night / Monday morning. This really sucks for eastern time persons like myself. (This time matters when you see further details below.) 2. Points become more rare after the first 3 weeks . Here’s how many ‘pizza scans’ are available in each period (When you divide number of points by 10.) 1. 3.1 Million (Note: This period only 2 days long) 2-3 250 Thousand. 4-12. 125 thousand 13. 250 thousand 3. So basically anyone can download the app in the first period and get 10 free points for scanning a pizza. There is basically zero chance they will run out of 31 million points in 2 days. But this only gets you 1/6 of the way towards a pizza. As weeks progress far fewer scans will be available. In weeks 2-3 I’d hope scans would still be pretty easy to get, – if not may as well throw in the towel at that point. Perhaps 125K scans is still a reasonable amount for weeks 4-12, maybe not. – While I hope a few fewer number of people remember to participate timely, my guess is that scans will run out fairly quickly during these weeks. – And remember points/scans become available in the middle of the night. Conclusion: This is an ingenious marketing ploy by Domino’s. MC Donalds, Wendys, Burger King, etc. have been practically giving away food to everyone for the past 6-12+ months as part of their APP war. Domino’s will get a huge number of downloads from this which they will only have to provide a free pizza in exchange for a very small percentage of. Time will tell how much they benefit from this. (How many future purchases will be triggered simply from having people download the APP?) I’ve scanned my first pizza, and will follow this the next few weeks. Fortunately I have Mondays off, so if I happen to wake up in the middle of the night or early morning I may as well give it a shot and see how it goes. My expectations are low though.

Part of the fine print appears to be new users only. This is one way for them to reduce their Mystery Shopper costs.

not true… I am long time app user and had no problems getting this to work for me… it’s part of their latest app update.

I have never wanted a medium Dominos pizza bad enough to do this.

You can usually upgrade to a large for $3….

Pass, it’s too much work for a medium 2 topping pizza. Walmart frozen pizza is $2.78 and tastes about the same. Thanks for posting though!

This is a good if you dont value your time much

Well, Instagram comes in handy.

Yep. Google images worked for me after the app did not like my leftover slice from the Superbowl.
