DoorDash has added a new benefit for DashPass members, you now earn 5% back in credit on pick up orders. This should apply automatically, but if it doesn’t then you need to add promo code ‘DashPass Pickup Benefit’. This isn’t as good as the previous 10% back deal, but looks to be a permanent benefit. One note for chase dashpass people, you must pay with your chase card to receive the discount
If you are paying with gift card you cannot “stack” with the 5% pickup offer
Unrelated note – but how is this adding to the “profitability model” that is plaguing the gig economy companies?
Doordash is filing for an IPO, so they probably care more about subscriber numbers than cash flow. They’re also “almost” profitable.
They upcharge for food on their site. If you’re going to pick up your order, it’s cheaper to just order directly through the merchant in most instances.
Not seeing this in my account and it is not listed under promotions as instructed and when I type the code in as presented it says not valid. I guess this is targeted.
~200 is the breakeven if you pay monthly and expect zero deliveries
Probably more than that since the prices are Usually higher on DoorDash over calling the place directly for a pickup order.
