Earn Up To 45,000 Marriott Points Per Year With Marriott’s #RewardsPoints Social Media Program (Second Campaign Launched)

Marriott has been tinkering with offer members points for completing social media actions since 2014 and they have just unveiled their new program called #RewardsPoints (click here for direct link to new program).

How To Earn Points

Connecting Profiles

You’ll earn 250 points by profile you connect:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Twitter

Follow Marriott

You’ll get 150 points for each Marriott profile you follow:

  • Twitter
  • Instagram

Marriott will then launch 3-4 new campaigns each month to let users earn up to the 45,000 point maximum annually. The first campaign is now out:

Our Verdict

How useful this program is really depends on what the campaigns are like, if we take the maximum of 45,000 points and assume 4 campaigns per month that means each campaign will be worth 930 points (I imagine there will actually be more like 45 campaigns across the year for a total of 1,000 points each but let’s see). If the campaigns are like follow one of the properties then it seems like great value, if they are tweet out with specific tweets for 20 points each then it’s probably a waste of time.

Once we start seeing the campaigns we will see how much we can automate as well, if it requires stuff like tweeting out for example then we could create a new Twitter account and then you could use If This Then That to automatically retweet anything we post. Even if you don’t value Marriott points remember that they transfer to SPG at a 3:1 ratio meaning you could earn a maximum of 15,000 SPG points through this promotion. I’ll add this to our list of free miles & points opportunities.

Time to reactivate that instagram account I created last year to get 500 points.

  2. Austin says:

Points post nearly instantly, checked my account 20 min after signing up and had 1k Marriott points.

And looks like you can instantly transfer to SPG, too.

  3. scott says:

They had something like this a couple of years ago and I earned a decent amount of points. Plus Marriott kept messing up and giving me thousands of extra points. I’ll definitely try this again.

  4. Chris M says:

Can’t find where to connect my profiles. Anyone have a link?

Easy 1,000 points. Posted the next day. Now I only need 14k to book the cheapest room in town! Haha.

  7. Sam says:

Before you connect your social profiles to Marriott account, please ensure that your Marriot account is configured to earn points… It will certainly link your account with profile, but you won’t get points.

You also get an email indicating “Your Marriott Rewards account is configured to earn miles instead of points. Please change this in your Marriott Rewards account settings.”… not sure if you’d get points after changing the setting.

    • Ryan says:

I got that email and when I went to check my account, I had points as my preference. I’m gonna be mad if they don’t give me my points.

    • Alex says:

Happened to me, changed it to points > disconnected twitter account then connected again. It’s been a couple days and have not received any points from twitter or instagram.

  8. zjts says:

what happened to the amazon gc as a redemption option? gone forever ? (i hope not)

  9. P says:

Got the 50 points 5x! Yaay.

  10. P says:

Still working. Got another 50 points. 300 points total

  11. zjts says:

    50 points 8-21-17 only

I always do twiter stuff wrong…
do I need to tweet with #GreatAmericanEclipse and #SolarEclipse2017 and #RewardsPoints for 50 Rewards points?
    or retweet?
    or something else?
I am 99 points of a reward so this would really help!

How long is it taking to get the 50 points?

Earn 1000 points by connecting accounts…ster#!#top
i did this & definitely connected my twitter account but never seem to get the twitter points, tho I get the others )facebook, instagram)

  12. Albert says:

Anyone know what needs to be included? i tweeted both, someone liked it instantly, but no points in Marriott account.

i did get 1000 from registered it all.

  13. Steve says:

Hard to believe people are willing to do these sheep tasks for 50 points each. Don’t you guys have any self respect?

  14. Steve says:

@ William, I’d rather just transfer in 1,000 Chase UR. Save myself the aggravation of having to waste my time. What’s the value of 50 MR points? 35 cents?

    • That’s up to you, I’m sure I post lots of deals not everybody finds useful. I know some people do find this one useful so I post it. Not every deal is going to be a winner for everybody.

      • Steve says:

I agree that at the end of the day, every decision is up to each individual person. But I’m arguing the merits of it and mostly discussing “the value of one’s time.” The fact that so many jump at this deal leads me to believe that people aren’t considering the value of their time which is rather sad.

  15. esdot says:

“Ritz-Carlton Rewards® members are not eligible for this promotion.” Does anyone know how to change a Ritz-Carlton Rewards account to a Marriott Rewards account? See

  16. Rye says:

is this still alive? I see Marriott still replying when someone retweets, bot not on mine 🙁

  17. Cicero says:

Does this work for protected tweets?

    • Maria says:

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but Marriott won’t see your protected tweets, even if you tweet them directly (eg, @MarriottRewards), UNLESS @MarriottRewards follows you. I doubt they will follow you.
