Earn Up To 45,000 Marriott Points Per Year With Marriott’s #RewardsPoints Social Media Program (Second Campaign Launched)
Marriott has been tinkering with offer members points for completing social media actions since 2014 and they have just unveiled their new program called #RewardsPoints (click here for direct link to new program).
How To Earn Points
You’ll earn 250 points by profile you connect:
You’ll get 150 points for each Marriott profile you follow:
Marriott will then launch 3-4 new campaigns each month to let users earn up to the 45,000 point maximum annually. The first campaign is now out:
- Earn 50 points for letting them know where you watched the eclipse.
- Earn 50 points for letting me know what dish you’d like to learn to cook.
How useful this program is really depends on what the campaigns are like, if we take the maximum of 45,000 points and assume 4 campaigns per month that means each campaign will be worth 930 points (I imagine there will actually be more like 45 campaigns across the year for a total of 1,000 points each but let’s see). If the campaigns are like follow one of the properties then it seems like great value, if they are tweet out with specific tweets for 20 points each then it’s probably a waste of time.
Once we start seeing the campaigns we will see how much we can automate as well, if it requires stuff like tweeting out for example then we could create a new Twitter account and then you could use If This Then That to automatically retweet anything we post. Even if you don’t value Marriott points remember that they transfer to SPG at a 3:1 ratio meaning you could earn a maximum of 15,000 SPG points through this promotion.
