[Expired] Expedia: $100 Off Flights Round Trip Flights ($200 Minimum)

All deals are now dead.

90% off hotel deal is dead, but you can still get $100 off round trip flights of $200+ or more and 20% off hotels (flight deal is great, hotel deal is very average).

The Offer

Direct link to offer (our affiliate link)

  • Expedia is having an end of year sale. At 9AM PT they will be offering 90% off select hotels and $100 off select flights. The deal will only be available via the Expedia app

The Fine Print

  • Full terms not available yet

Our Verdict

Think of this as ‘download the Expedia app for a very small chance to win 90% off hotels or $100 off flights’. Usually the hotel restriction is that it won’t work on large brand hotels, not sure what the flight restriction will be. Chances are you won’t even get close to being one of the lucky few to get one of these deals, but hey maybe you will get lucky.

dude. its 2019 with data breaches. learn to use aliases and dump inboxes.

If your email address is kindly.assist@gmail.com, you can get mail sent to kindly.assist+expedia@gmail.com, then forward all those aliases to a marketing folder. Give each company a different address so when your email is compromised, you know who to blame.

The “select hotels” on Cyber Monday was a list of a couple dozen hotels. I wonder if this will similarly be disappointing. Guess it’s time to think of a good option if it turns out to be semi-unrestricted.

I’m thinking the same thing. If it’s the same kind of limitation, then it’s nothing to write home about.

Exactly. Always curious, but been burned before waiting for these “Expedia Specials” to start and turns out to be a big nothing burger. It will be 90% off at the Tyler Texas Inn from March 3-5. ha ha

Looks to already be gone. I was one of the lucky few….

What did you get? Was it 90% off anything or limited to specific properties?

Amazed this actually work. Used on a non brand hotel west LA. Can only use code once and I accidentally only clicked for 1 night. But I’ll take what ever I can get. Original cost $189 after discount and tax+fees came to $44.42. well done expedia

Not the original poster, did not see a list. Booked a standalone hotel at Lake Tahoe, discount came to $385.

Maybe I’m dense, but I couldn’t even figure out where to enter the code. I didn’t see a place to enter it on the checkout screen.

Ha I didn’t see it at first either… after you select your room there is a drop down right above where you would enter your credit card info.

It actually did work for non brand name properties. Was able to get one near LAX original price $189 after tax and fees was about $45. For the code you have to click down a box right above the credit card info after you pick what room you want. It looks like the 20% code vacation20 is still working

IIRC, These Expedia coupon codes are not available for major chain hotels, so if you were booking a Hilton or something, I think the promo code box doesn’t even appear.

Abelian Grape

Actually, it looks like the “Enter a coupon or promotional code” link appears for some hotels but not others. And when I do enter HITREST, I just get “Sorry, the coupon code you entered is not valid.” Oh, well.

The $100 Off Flights even works for the multi-city itinerary, just booked one!

How? I only see one-way and r/t on the app. The restriction is r/t too.

It’s a Cathay Pacific flight TPE – LAX & SFO – TPE, I was about to book it later on so I just give it a shot and it actually works! My Expedia app does have the multi-city option.

iOS or android? My iOS doesn’t have the option.

I confirm that I already got the $100 credit in my credit card, even though the airfare itself is not posted yet!

Got the credit too, how did you do multicity? There isn’t an option on the app

You are limited to $500 max discount for the hotel booking, which isn’t all that much – I was pricing out $1-2K rooms last night. However, of course it makes more business sense for Expedia to limit the discount and $500 is still a generous discount (though in my case “only” a ~60% discount).

Can confirm this works (as of 12:55pm ET). Was able to book a Sleep Inn (4.5 / 5.0 Expedia rating) for $19.26 including taxes. I also checked and it worked for at least one other hotel in the area and date I was looking, but this was best value for me.

This was an amazing deal. Thanks for sharing doc!! I saved about $3k across all bookings. No way I would have splurged on those fancy hotels for NYE!

Do you have multiple Expedia accounts?

CJ

Amazing deal! Managed to get a hotel room in NYC for $56ish (though I have to pay $26 in fees upon check in) for NYE when the code was still active. Also managed to save $100 on a flight to Berlin in February. Thanks for the tip, Doc!
