Our Verdict

These are some excellent deals. Amazon is obviously a big deal and Sam’s gift cards can be used at Walmart as well. In the past, these types of deals have sold out early.

Reports are that Amex Business Gold  to earn 4x if it’s one of your top two categories. And reports are that it counts as Online Shopping for BofA cards and Blue Cash card and ShopYourWay card. And it counts as Computer Software category for BofA Customized Cash Rewards cards and for 1.5x on the Business Platinum card.

Note: While these deals are unlimited, Pepper will often limit users on their overall volume of purchases in a given day. You might be able to call in and verify to increase your limits.

My thanks if you enter my signup code 584255 during the initial signup process. Those who signup with a referral code get double Pepper points on all purchases for 15 days. (Not clear whether these bonus deals will be doubled.) No referral links or references in the comments below, please.

  • The Instacart deal got me to finally join Pepper. My experience trying to purchase it is probably going to make me permanently quit. I had a BofA card claim I didn’t respond to a 3d secure challenge, as someone else described. I switched to another card and the issuer declined for potential fraud – understandable and no problem. I confirmed it was me, and should have been good to go. But when I try again with that card, Pepper keeps insisting it’s being declined even though they’re not putting it through. I changed to another card, one that even has me confirm with a one time code, and Pepper still keeps claiming it’s being declined when it’s not. This site is a mess. I emailed, but if they don’t fix something in time for me to get this deal, I’m done.

  • I’d be careful with Walmart gift cards. A coworker and I recently both bought physical cards at a store– different card designs both with the legit Walmart PIN seal intact. On the same day a week later, both cards were drained online.

Seems like the card numbers are being generated in a predictable pattern and then PINs are being brute forced

Walmart’s customer service has been giving me a hard time about needing to provide a paper receipt when I paid electronically with Walmart Pay.

    Avoid.

    • Thanks for the heads-up. What $ amount was on the compromised WM gift cards? I had an issue with WM gift card balance (around $70) that was somehow drained without my knowledge. WM customer service would not reimburse the stolen funds.

  • It seems their server has a big problem, many user cannot log in for a while. I talked with an agent, she told me about 70% users are influenced.

    • I was told the same thing yesterday and have now gone 24 hours without being able to access my account, no call back from the reps today, and no response to any of my support tickets in 2 weeks. I’m now filing CC disputes with Amex as I have no other recourse with this company.

  • I tried to use a Visa gift card and kept getting a message that I was failing the 3d secure challenge when checking out. I pushed my luck with retries and ended up with my account getting locked. Can anyone confirm whether or not Visa gift cards can be used on Pepper?

  • I’ve made a comment on the previous post as well, and you’ve corrected it and made it clear that 10X is the same as 10%, but help me understand cause I don’t get it

Amazon shows 10x right now; when I put $100 to buy, It shows that I will earn 8000 points with the purchase, which is $4, right? Which makes it 4%, no?

unless, as others suggest, that boost is going to be applied later, but then it makes 40%? which can’t be

IDK if they’re purposely trying to confuse with the multipliers, etc.

    • I find the points system deliberately confusing. Is it possible the Amazon gift cards “sold out” so you’re only seeing the regular 4%? It should say “10x” in green below where you enter your chosen amount.

  • Thanks. I finally got the signup process to work (using the referral code). It kept erroring out on the phone number verification earlier in the day, but they must have gotten it fixed.

  • I just signed up, not sure what I’m doing here. Is this a cash back portal or gift card purchase portal? How much is one pepper point worth. App is not very clear, thanks in advance for all the help.

  • Pepper is getting insane. They logged me out before I could get my gift card info and asked me to reset my password but the flow kept going in circle, telling me I would need a stronger password. Wtf?!

  • I still can’t login. It tells me to change the password which originally didn’t work at all. Now it changes but proceeds to tell me I need a stronger one, even though 20 random characters capital/lowercase and symbols should suffice.

  • is anyone else UNABLE to add their credit card? Something about the credit card being part of a data leak and can’t be added? Even creating a virtual card number doesn’t work.

  • Isn’t it 10x Points, which equates to actually just 5% cashback? Still great, but saying 10% back is a little misleading

  • When you use earned points to buy more GCs, do you still get %back for the consumed points?
For example, if I redeem points for $100 Amazon GC, do you get 10% back points?

Or do you get %back only for what you paid with cash?
