Real-Time Redemption
US Bank is now offering Real-Time Redemption for the Flexperks Visa card. After enrollment, a text message will come instantly after using the credit card and allow you to redeem rewards toward the purchase. If you choose ‘Yes’ the amount shown will come off your bill as a statement credit.

The exact award value isn’t apparent, but it’s likely one cent per point.
500 Free Points
As part of the launch, US Bank is offering a free 500 Flexperks bonus points for Flexperks Visa cardholders who enroll in Real-Time Redemptions.
Here is how to take part in this offer (see a video tutorial above):
- Log into your US Bank FlexPerks account
- Go to ‘My Rewards.’
- Click ‘Redeem Rewards.’
- Choose the ‘Offers’ tab
- From there, you’ll be able to activate Real-Time Rewards with your card number and cell phone
During the enrollment process, you can choose at what dollar level and which categories you want to receive the real-time redemption option via text. Select a category in which you never spend and a very high dollar amount so as to avoid annoying text messages. And you should be able to unenroll easily after the 500 points post.
Final Thoughts
Most people use Flexperks for the ability to earn up to 2% back on the points when redeemed for flights. Under Real-Time Redemption, you’ll probably get just one cent per point (I don’t have the card to test it out) and for that reason, most of us will take part in this offer exclusively for the 500 bonus points.
Note that the offer and service are only being advertised for the Visa card; if anyone can get the redemption option and the bonus to work for the Amex version, please let us now.
