Free $10 Reward Card for Each AT&T Account You Enroll in Autopay or Paperless Billing

The Offer

AT&T is running two different promotions for Wireless, Home Phone/Internet, or U-verse customers:

  1. Receive a $10 AT&T Reward Visa Prepaid card when you use the Offer link to enroll in AutoPay for one or more qualifying AT&T accounts during the offer effective date using a debit card or direct bank account draft.
    • If you have multiple qualifying AT&T accounts, you are eligible to receive $10 for each account you enroll in AutoPay.
    • AutoPay itself is a free service.
  2. Receive a $10 A&T Reward Visa Prepaid card when you use the Offer link to enroll in Paperless Billing for one or more qualifying AT&T accounts during the offer effective date.
    • If you have multiple qualifying AT&T accounts, you are eligible to receive $10 for each account you enroll in paperless billing.
    • Paperless Billing itself is a free service.

The AT&T representative confirmed that prepaid wireless accounts are not eligible for these offers. However, prepaid customers on a $45 or higher GoPhone monthly plan are eligible to receive a $5 monthly credit for enrolling in Auto Refill.

What is an AT&T Reward Card?

  • The AT&T Reward card is a Visa Prepaid Card that can be used wherever Visa is accepted.
  • The card cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot be used for cash withdrawal at any cash dispensing location.
  • If you would like to use the card for gas purchase, note that the card cannot be used at automated gasoline pumps so you will need to pay inside for gas purchases.
  • There is no fee imposed for using the card itself to purchase goods and services.
  • The card expires 90 days after issuance. See the cardholder agreement.

The Fine Print

  • Both offers are effective July 1, 2014‒June 30, 2015.
  • You must be an AT&T Mobility, U-verse, or Home Phone/Internet residential customer to qualify.
  • Offer participation requires a myAT&T account. If you have a qualifying consumer AT&T account, but do not yet have a myAT&T account, you can quickly register for myAT&T when asked for login. myAT&T registration itself is only available for consumer accounts, not prepaid or business accounts.
  • AT&T employees are not eligible for these offers.
  • Limit of one $10 Reward Card for enrollment in AutoPay per account per 12-month period.
  • AutoPay offer redemption details will be provided to you by email within 8 weeks of activation of enrollment.
  • You must maintain enrollment in AutoPay for a minimum of 90 days from the time processing of the reward is completed.
  • Limit of one $10 Reward Card for Paperless Billing enrollment per account per 12-month period.
  • Customers subscribing to Paperless Billing for any one AT&T service do not qualify for that portion of the offer for which they are already enrolled.
  • Paperless billing offer redemption details will be provided to you by email within 5 weeks of activation of enrollment.
  • You must maintain enrollment in Paperless Billing for a minimum of 90 days from the time processing of the reward is completed.

The Verdict

For individuals with AT&T consumer accounts, enrolling in AutoPay and Paperless Billing is an easy $20 at minimum. If you hold multiple qualifying accounts, then the multiple account allowance provision of the offer would yield a much larger maximum bonus potential.

The offer stipulation of one reward per account per 12-month period appears to imply that customers may continue to exercise this offer in the future by potentially un-enrolling and re-enrolling in AutoPay and Paperless Billing, provided the offer still stands. For individuals who want to exercise the offers now but are already enrolled in either AutoPay or Paperless Billing, one user’s remark on a similar offering in the past suggests that un-enrolling and re-enrolling after another payment cycle would be worthwhile to attempt. As with other similar offers, it is advisable that you capture a screen of the offer on the website should you need to follow up with AT&T on your reward card.

Both automatic payment and paperless billing are mutually beneficial schemes for corporations and consumers. Automatic payment provides companies a means to ensure their payment is received on time, and allows you as a consumer to avoid the painful fees associated with late payments that can arise when manual payment is employed. As corporations push for social and environmental responsibility, paperless billing is likely to become the norm. For consumers, choosing paperless billing can also help prevent needless identity theft that can arise from stolen mail.

Has anyone received their prepaid cards yet? I received an email from att last week asking me to claim my rewards from their reward center website but the website doesn’t identify me as a user. Anyone else have the same issue?
