You’re basically being paid $1.99 (maybe a nickel in actual cost) in junk soda to add your name and address to an unwanted mailing list for .01% of it’s actual value (your info) to the person/company that ends up selling the list.
Just give them an email that you use for promo offers. Tinfoil hat removed.
Only covers up to $1.99. Both stores near me want over $2 for a 2 liter. Pretty crazy.
If I recall, A&W brand has been $2.99 for the longest. Only the cheap store brands are less than $1.99.
It’s a good way to do a promo, to ensure that customers have skin in the game. Free doesn’t necessarily pay off for the manufacturer, as much as a steep discount.
Anyway, A&W is an established brand, so they don’t have to give away anything for free to get people hooked. A&W already knows people want what they have to offer. This coupon just ensures that people forgo the store brand, this time, and think about A&W for next time.
