Free $9 Per Amex Card with Ticketmaster & Amex Checkout

The Offer

Direct Link

  • Make a $1 purchase/donation to the White Sox via Amex Checkout and receive a $10 statement credit. Total $9 money maker per Amex card.

[UPDATE: That Link is no longer working. Here’s a link to a different charity which is still working currently. Thanks to Steve for letting us know.]

[UPDATE #2: That link no longer works either. The best available currently is a $5 donation, which will just be a $5 moneymaker. Or you can wait to see if any other possibility opens up before the September deadline.]

As we noted previously, the offer credit has been working per Amex card, so you should get the $10 for multiple Amex cards in the same login, as well as for Amex cards from separate logins. Just make a separate donation on each card with Amex checkout.

For some reason, the system defaults you to a $2 donation. Just change the quantity to $1, choose Amex Checkout, and you’re good to go.

 The Fine Print

  • Like all Amex Checkout deals, this expires 9/7/15.

Our Verdict

It’s worth doing this offer right away since that donation link may not work forever. There’s is a small risk that Amex could reverse policy and only allow the offer once per login, but hopefully that won’t happen. Personally, I’ll be making a $1 donation on each of my Amex cards right after publishing this post.

Free money! We don’t know how long this one will last so we sent it out via the DoC Hot Deals Twitter account, see How To Receive Mobile Notifications For Hot Deals That Will Likely Die Quickly.

Awesome find. Plus if the worst thing that happens is we’ve made a few $1 donations to charity, I can live with that.

Is this offer per merchant as well? I already used it for each of my cards at Newegg, but can I “double up” and use it on all of them again with TicketMaster?

Yes it works per merchant just confirmed it with amex

I’m from Chicago and the Sox do a lot/help a lot through this program. If nothing else, you are donating to a worthy charity!

William Charles

Glad to hear they do good, hopefully they’ll receive a boatload from this promotion. If all goes well I’ll donate some of my profits for helping to facilitate this great deal!

Did anyone else have to receive a text message each time you placed an order? For 1 of the 3 times I actually had to do it twice as the system messed up. Of course that’s a small price to pay if it works.

The T&C say it’s one time per merchant per account, not per card. I’m interpreting account to mean login account.

Will Gu

don’t see that as a legitimate interpretation. Plus many people have reported success with more than one card under the same login account.

Where are these reports? I checked the original article here on DOC and I don’t see any successes.

I only have one login for 6 cards, received credit on all 6 each time with each merchant. It’s not one per login, it’s per card per merchant.

Argh! AMEX express checkout wants to do an SMS one-time code, which … of course … comes from an SMS short code, which … of course … doesn’t work with Google Voice. Mordac strikes again.

Ed, remove your mobile phone # from your Amex account before ordering. This way Amex will probably ask you a different security question. Unfortunately I didn’t think of this until after I wasted several text messages.

I get their texts to a GV number.

I’m using my google voice number just fine. No problem so far.

Anyone else experiencing that the Ticketmaster website keeps trying to make you download something? lol.

Justin
Justin

yup. horribly annoying the first time i ran through the process. new download popped up on each new page load. I eventually moved it to the side of my screen and just let them keep popping up on top of each other. after i finished with all of my cards i had to do a clicking spree to exit out of all the (what seemed like 100’s) of download boxes..

Good to know I wasn’t the only one, thought I had a virus because nobody else above me in the comments mentioned it lol. I just had my pinky on the Esc key so as soon as it popped up I cleared it with the Esc.

Anyone else getting error that your billing address isn’t in the US??

Eric

Yes, I got this error. I tried it again and it worked fine.

Each time I selected e-delivery, I got the error message. I tried home delivery for no additional charge and it worked the first time.

I managed to do it but had to repeat each card like 3x (once I repeated it 5x). I found the highest chance of success was if I closed the browser, reopened and opened the link afresh. Didn’t clear cache or anything.

I used Firefox. Chrome refused to work for me and now I can’t even use Chrome to log in to my Amex account anymore. Will clear cache later.

Quick tips:

1.) Use Chrome and quickly choose to save your login id/pw after the first time you submit your login info amex checkout

2.) You’ll get bad request 500 error messages with Amex for some reason. Clear your browser cache and it should work again… or switch to IE(shudder)

3.) If you get the message your shipping address doesn’t match or something like that, try selecting Amex as payment and login again. Should take second time if not third.

4.) I keep getting prompts on each page to download random string files. These don’t harm anything, just annoying. Clean up later. Keep churning on.
