Just installed this day before yesterday – had to hook up a 3rd wire to the furnace to power it. Not that wild about the requirement to use Google Home to get it functioning, but have to say – this is the coolest thermostat ever!! I’m not in one of the discounted areas, but my brother was, and purchased it for me. He said when signing up, one of the things they would have liked you to do (but not required) was to give the power company the ability to talk to your thermostat and allow them to turn it up/down by at most a couple of degrees at times when there is an energy crunch. Yowsa – and I thought Google Home was too much of big brother watching!!!

Just a note for Ohio people: I tried to buy the Duke Energy one and was told that the program expired back in 2016.

William Charles thanks for the links!
this link above is actually for NJ PSE&G, not NY:

Thanks! I was lamenting that PSE&G wasn’t among the strong NJ offers. Got one for $12 after shipping and tax.

When I purchased the terms stated that they reserve the right to come to your home for up to a year.

Assuming the offer has no strings, it’s yours. You can throw it in the garbage if you’re in the mood.

Stupid question, NY here
If I have coned for electricity and national grid for gas heating, which one do I pick?

Thanks

I would try the ConEd first since it’s the better deal. It makes you go through a verification during the order so if ConEd fails you can try the other.

If its anything like my state it will eventually ask you for your account number. I would choose the more desirable option ($19 or $0 with strings) and worst case scenario you have to reenter your data on the other link. Gas company is more likely to work but if you’d rather do the $19 offer it may be worth a couple minutes to try to save $6.

Hmm, I’m getting a “not secure” alert in chrome and the web site looks like it is from the 90s.
