G-Coin – Sign Up & Receive 1 G-Coin (Equivalent Of 1 Gram Of Gold) When You Make A Purchase Of $50

Update 11/13/19: Now available in California as well.

The Offer

  • G-Coin is offering new users 1 G-Coin when they sign up for a new account and make a single purchase of $50 or more. The person who refers you will receive a bonus of $10

Our Verdict

I couldn’t really find much information about G-Coin, but it’s similar to cryptocurrency in that it uses blockchain technology. 1 G-Coin is equal to 1 gram of responsible gold (~$48.50). It doesn’t look like this is a particularly unique idea. From the limited research I’ve done, G-Coin looks legitimate (it’s run by Emergent Technology Holdings and it looks like they have acquired other companies before and raised ~$50m), I’d still recommend doing your own. I’m personally going to give this offer a miss. You can use reader Bob A’s link if you’d like, found here. Feel free to share your links in the comments below.

do you have to use a referral link?

Gadget 🕵️

Looks like you could just go through the homepage if you really despise referral links. I don’t see the advantage.

Kyle ❤️ I was going off of a maximizing money post. It’s possible that they expanded to more states since the article was written

Does it require a KYC? I’m wondering if I would be able to sign up through a different state since I’m in Cali?

Gadget 🕵️

You are required to take a selfie, provide your D/L front and back, and of course address, cell phone number, e-mail, and SSN.

Approval apparently is not instant, and I did all the steps, including ACH details, and got a “we will contact you once your account is verified”.

signed up via your link, thanks, now in same approval pending state as you

Thanks. I don’t have a great feeling about this one. Good luck.

I figured, bummer. Good luck to you and everyone else on this one. 🙂

why do i keep seeing stuff about being required to take a selfie?!!?!? i cant remember the other bank, seems like it was “simple”? but i did the “simple” bank offer, and wasnt required to do that, but that wouldve pissed me off if asked. take a selfie for a bank account?? do they want you to hold up todays newspaper in it as well? maybe i’m showing my age, but i’m not really interested in “taking a selfie”!!! what purpose does that serve??

Same reason that when you hand a cashier an ID to buy alcohol/cigs/cash a check, they should look at your face. Someone could have your ID without your permission.

Another scenario: family members aren’t always in the know what their kids could be signing up for, and spouses aren’t always honest either. I fill out stuff all the time for S.O… I usually tell her. This time I have no choice.

Newspaper isn’t a thing because the computer will have a timestamp.

I think it’s annoying too, but only took a second. And really, if your worried about them stealing your info and knowing what you look like, they actually wouldn’t use your goofy picture. The culprit wants the ID to have their picture.

Here are some concerns with this one:

When you go to the homepage, and in the e-mail you get sent, it says:

“REGISTER NOW AND GET A FREE G-COIN*

*Limited to the first 500 users. Single purchase of $50+ required.”

Of course we have no way to know when they hit 500 users.

The referral program seems a little backwards. You get a referral link before your account is even approved. If people back-out or don’t get approved, that isn’t going to count as a referral. Per the e-mail for my 1st referral: “We will notify and send you $10 in G-Coin once we verify your referral’s registration and first G-Coin purchase.”

It appears they only let you get 5 referrals, up to $50. If the first five people I refer back out, or get denied, can I make it up later? Or, is anything above 5 not even being tracked?

The G-Coin team

Hi Gadget! sorry for the late reply but we just ran into this article. We just posted a long answer in this article but to answer your specific question on whether we are tracking a maximum number of emails, the answer is we track them all! So, you can share your link and get as many friends as you want to sign up. We will track them all and as soon as you meet the criteria, boom, we’ll send you the referral bonus.

Gadget 🕵️

I appreciate the response. I have done several referrals but I am sure a few will have 2nd thoughts.

Edit: And just to be clear, please confirm referrals are capped at 5 successful applicants?

It’s been over a week and I am at the same place I was when I submitted my info/applied for an account (Submitted app 10/5). When I try to log in it says “we will contact you once your account is verified”… Wait seems excessive.

The G-Coin team

Hi Gadget, thanks for the heads up. If you can share your email through either our chat on gcoin.com or send an email to support@gcoin.com we’ll be happy to check why it’s taking longer than expected to get your account verified. A week should not be the case. In some cases, when we get a blurry image, we request a better one so if you haven’t received any requests from us, that’s something we want to fix asap.

I’ve had the same experience as Gadget–no approval and no further communication. I had just about given up on this but have emailed this support address today. I emailed another gcoin.com address that was on the website and had no response.

The G-Coin team

I’m glad this is helping us get to the bottom of this! yes, our customer support email is support@gcoin.com or the chat on gcoin.com. Let me know if you don’t hear from us Jason, thanks for your patience!

The G-Coin team

Hi again Jason! I can’t see your email here but our customer service team informs me that they received an email from a Jason today and their account has been approved. Let me know if you were that customer, hopefully you were and are good to go now.

Hi GCT, yes, got in today after your dev team fixed a bug somewhere that was not letting me past a screen saying my application was still pending. Attempted a purchase and will see how that goes.

Looks like there is a limit of 5 referrals per person, here’s my link:

Bonus is only available for the first 500 people. That doesn’t seem like very good odds.

Going through the homepage is the early adopter program for the first 500. The referral program is completely different and doesn’t state a cap.

Requesting all that personal info sounds like a wonderful way for identity theft; pic of front and back of driver license, address and social security number. Blood type?

Kyle ❤️

Does it ask for blood type? KYC is pretty common with crypto accounts and I believe required due to the CDD rule.

I saw this deal posted on Maximizing Money about a month ago. I’m pretty sure they hit the 500 limit already. Though they wrote on Maximizing Money that the limit was not hit yet but I wouldn’t trust them as they have lied before regarding other bonuses

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Think about it; is the allure of a few bucks worth giving up your personal info to a possible scam operation? I’ll pass, and sleep better at night.
