The Offer
Some people are reporting getting an offer from Starbucks to get Gold status with a single purchase on Tuesday, June 26.
Here’s a link to the offer (found on DDF), it looks targeted from the fine print. Also, another reader got a different kind of offer beginning June 26, so my guess is they are sending out various offers now, and that each offer is targeted.
Typically, you have to first earn 300 stars ($150 of spend each year) before being eligible for Gold benefits, such as getting a free drink/item with 125 stars ($62.50 in spend). With this offer, a single purchase gets you Gold and allows you to begin earning free items.

Our Verdict
Useful for those who want Gold and don’t have it. Again, my guess is this is a targeted offer. You can also get Gold status by applying for the Chase Starbucks credit card or the Chase Starbucks prepaid card.
6/26 gold offer status didn’t work after fulfilling the required purchase. How’d that happen? False ad !! How’d it get posted on my Starbucks app??? Hacked? Did it just happen to me?

It’s overpriced coffee. I mean, I’ll admit I have it too – but usually because I’m stuck in an airport on business travel and not the one paying for it.
Boggles my mind that people would spend that much, the rewards seem mediocre as well.
When people say that Starbuck’s coffee is too expensive, I tell them that the coffee at Denny’s costs more, which it does.
A free reward is a free reward.
When does the reward post? Just bought a drink and a few stars posted, but haven’t jumped to gold yet. I did have the targeted ad on my accountfor this offer.

I got into the help chat on the starbucks website and the agent updated me to gold status based on my purchase. I would recommend getting on there and inquiring, may not post otherwise.
