[Dead] Giving Assistant: iPage Signup ~$164 Money Maker

Update: Bonus is now $100, so only a $64 money maker. Sign up for instant notifications to never miss another deal again.

Quick note; offer will only be $164 if you’re a power user with Giving Assistant. If you signed up before a certain date you’ll automatically be a power user otherwise you’ll need to pay $5.99.

The Offer

  • Giving Assistant is currently offering $200 when you sign up for iPage (webhosting/domain name registration/site builder).

Our Verdict

The cheapest account you can sign up for is one year for $35.88 with no add ons. That means you make about $164 profit, obviously you’ll need to remember to cancel after the year is up. Obviously that sounds too good to be true, other portals are currently offering up to $72. Reader Jonflow did this deal and signed up for the $35.88 account and it shows up as pending.

I’ve seen generous hosting offers like this before and in my experience the company always finds some way out of actually paying out the commission to the shopping portal and because of that the portal can’t pay you. If you do go for this deal then I’d recommend signing up for an account and actually going through the process of setting up a website (even if it’s only for pictures of your dog).

Personally I’m going to skip this deal because I think the chances of everything working smoothly is only 10% and I would rather do other things with my time if things go wrong. That being said if $140 is extremely useful for you and you don’t mind the risk factors this could be worth it. Obviously this deal should work but that doesn’t mean it will work.

If you don’t already have a Giving Assistant account then you can sign up using my link here. I get $5 and you also get $5 for sign up.

Just a heads up to switch your domain to manual renew, and to completely cancel your subscription. As far as I can tell, DO NOT just switch your account to non-renew: my plan is scheduled to expireon Jan 28, 2020, but I still see an upcoming charge scheduled for Jan 12, 2020 for $119.88. It looks like this may be some kind of “add on” to the plan that is billed differently. Cancelling entirely should stop it. I’ll also revoke their PayPal rebill permission, to be safe.

Did this on 1/28 and was just automatically paid out by Giving Assistant via PayPal. I was also a new user that same day. Thanks Doc!

Same here. I even did the trick of waiting for a $21/yr promo to pop up, and the full $200 tracked and paid out!

iPage chat support claims givingassistant gets up to $150 per referral, payable after 45 days, http://ipage.com/affiliate/gettingstarted

So far givingassisant has been very very slow in responding, and has not replied to my latest inquiry in over 6 days, previously claiming they’re a small team and any update from me drops my inquiry to the bottom of their queue (which is absolutely idiotic).

I signed up with GA to do this deal, and now I can’t log into my account. (It was previously showing $200 pending for 4/28.) I’ve sent a message to their help@givingassistant email address, but I’m not optimistic. I even deployed a website, too! At least I’m in iPage’s 30-day “full” refund window, though that doesn’t include the $15 domain registration fee.

False alarm! Their customer service fixed whatever website bug locked my account, and I still have $200 pending.

well, it seems to have happened exdctly as DoC predicted. my Giving Assistant cash back balance is now $5 instead of $205. $200 was pending, and this morning it was just…gone. nothing even shows up in Activity anymore.

bait and switch

Superchurn That sucks. You can at least get a refund from iPage (minus the nonrefundable$15 domain registration fee, I think) to minimize your loss, if you can’t get it resolved through Giving Assistant.
