Global Entry Renewals Can Be Done Via Zoom Appointment

Global Entry now allows renewal appointments to be done via Zoom appointment. You use the regular scheduling system and just save the drive. This doesn’t work for first time, only for renewals.

Some renewals don’t require an appointment at all, but it’s good to see that Zoom is an option in case you’re being required to make an appointment for a renewal.

I am trying to use the account(email) I used when applying for the global entries 5 years ago to login at https://ttp.dhs.gov/?utm_source=live&utm_medium=live and check my global entry status . But it says it can’t find my email. Anyone can remind me if we created account automatically for https://ttp.dhs.gov/?utm_source=live&utm_medium=live when we got approval for global entry last time. Or do I need to create a new account here in order to check my status?

Thanks

I haven’t really made use out of this over the past five years because when we applied, my daughter was 4 and so finger prints weren’t taken. Upon arrival to any airport, we get the dreaded X which requires us to some extent stand in the line. Every time we stop or depart from an airport, I drop by their offices begging them if they would take her in to add the finger prints to her profile but I always get turned down. A buddy of mine is in the same situation and upon renewal, his kid’s interview was waived even when finger prints weren’t on the profile.

Oddly, him and I are the only ones anxious to get an interview when everyone else is trying to avoid it. They’ll interview you when you don’t want them to do an interview when you really want them to interview you, they do they opposite.

Renewed last week to use my Global Entry credit before getting rid of one of my Amex plats. Was really dreading it because it’s a hassle to go onsite for an interview but was pleasantly surprised to find I was approved without a need for one. Really glad to see Zoom is an option now for others renewing!

Is there a way to change name after marriage? It’s been a nightmare so far, even when we go in person they say they’re too busy! Or offices are open 10-2

I definitely change the last name of all things and property I own. Very normal response to a points & miles blog Sam.

You are supposed to reject the oppressive patriarchy by not naming yourself what you want because a random guy named Sam on the internet told you.

Apparently anyone’s business is everyone’s business.

My wife never changed hers. However, it’s been rather difficult having a differe last name different than the kids’. There are rules about solo spouse flying with kids but those rules are heavily audited if the last name is different, even when both spouses are present.

Hi BS, my wife went to her local Global Entry office without an appointment and waited outside for an agent to open the door. She had her new passport, new social security card, new drivers license and old Global Entry card. She told the agent she got married, changed her last name, and wanted to update her Global Entry info. Agent took the items inside, updated her account and brought everything back out in a few minutes. A few days later, her new global entry card arrived in the mail. Hope that helps you 🙂

Thanks, trust me we’ve tried. it’s just tough to get to one during their restricted hours for us, and when we finally did the agent said she was too busy and we can just do it online. I knew she was incorrect but what could I do

Ya, that sounds frustrating. I think it took her 2 visits to get it done. Just be persistent and visit the GE office the next time you fly out of that airport.

Thank you. I’ve had my renewal date scheduled for awhile but far out because I’m working from home and won’t be able to get to an airport soon. I don’t want to not renew it though. I was able to schedule a zoom for this Sunday! Getting it over with. Thanks for the tip!

I just updated my GE account with new passport info. I thought that previously you were required to make an appearance to do that (?) but it just let me put it in with no problem.

I renewed my passport in 2016 and simply entered the new information without making an appearance.
