Gyft Caps eBay Gift Cards at $25

Gyft has been the easiest way to buy eBay gift cards with increased rewards since Gyft purchases paid with Paypal have been working to get 5x with INK cards.

Unfortunately, Gyft now limits eBay gift cards to just $25 denomination, none higher.

With Gyft gone and Target.com gone, it’s getting harder to source discounted eBay gift cards.

You can still buy eBay gift cards from Paypal Digital Gifts on eBay and get 5x with INK (the portal might come through there too), but PPDG has some elusive limits which makes them hard to deal with and eBay is limiting some of us to just two purchases per day. For me, PPDG is more lax with my purchases of $250 or less.

Gyft is also showing a max of $100 on Target gift cards which I think is new.

I contacted Gyft about this and they claimed this decision was made by eBay:

“Hello Michael,

Thanks for reaching out to Gyft!

Sorry for the frustration, but the merchant has decided to reduce the denomination for their gift cards sold on our site. I recommend reaching out to the merchant directly if you need to purchase higher amounts.

Regards,
Robert”

Gosh Darn It!

This was THE way to quickly have an eBay GC quickly provisioned for a time sensitive sale that also earns 5x

Mother goat-humpin’…

NOOOOOO. Oh man this really sucks. Last time I went to my Office max they wouldn’t let me buy the Ebay GC. And when I ordered online from Staples, it took a few days to get the GC. I guess Staples is. Maybe I can try going back to Officemax. The employee checking me out was trying to tell me they can’t sell the variable load Ebay GCS – but I had done it a week earlier at the same store. I didn’t have the time to talk to the manager, so I just let it go. I guess I’ll go back and push a little.

Has anyone been denied buying an Ebay GC from Officemax?

You can buy with United MPX app with an Amex that is 3x on travel/ airfare, and get 2x United miles. Still comes out to 5x and the delivery is instant and only limited to a $100 denomination.

Damn. My guess is that they had a high amount of fraud (stolen CCs)

What do you do with eBay cards?

You can order them from Staples…

Buy stuff on eBay…

I think Staples doesn’t count for GC online.

They do count as 5x but the issue is egift cards ordered through Staples.com can take hours or days before they’re delivered because they’re fulfilled by GCM. The benefit of Gyft was you got the gift card immediately.

I’m hoping this may be temporary like when Amazon gift cards disappeared a month ago.

It appears that Staples is no longer selling eBay cards with email delivery. Now they want to ship a physical card and charge an additional $1.99 to do so. The only positive is that they appear to have raised the purchase limit to $2,000, similar to the Visa debit cards. However, I have not tested this out.
