Happy To Launch Two New Giftcards – ‘Happy You’ & ‘Happy Holidays’

Metabank has announced it will be adding to it’s Happy range of cards. These cards can be used at multiple merchants, each variety has different merchants listed. The two new cards are:

Happy Holidays

  • Chili’s
  • GameStop
  • Lowe’s
  • Macy’s
  • P.F. Chang’s
  • Red Lobster
  • Ulta Beauty

Happy You

  • AMC Theatres
  • Dave & Buster’s
  • GameStop
  • Macy’s
  • P.F. Chang’s
  • The Cheesecake Factory
  • Ulta Beauty

Final Thoughts

We don’t know when the new cards will be available (currently just listed as coming soon). It’s also worth remembering that Happy cards terms now state they can’t be used to purchase other gift cards now.

Would love to see a Happy Pharmacy card since rx’s are so expensive (out-of-pocket) for many. That would be a very popular card. Next, Happy Grocery since we all need to eat!

Thought these would replace the everywhere cards but still see them around.

The Happy cards don’t have an activation fee, but if there is an OM/OD promotion, I’d take those, to get the wider acceptance/usage of the Rverywhere cards.

Similar but still vastly different concepts and functions.

Plus, everywhere cards have activation fees.

I’ve had no problem getting third party gift cards at BB&B or HD with Happy Cards. It’s nice that they’re adding Lowe’s, which has a better selection of third party gift cards than either of the above stores. I’m hoping that they’ll have some nice introductory discounts on the new cards.

In our area, the HD have all the good locations in the core area, as well as close in suburbs. Lowes has all the crappy exurb locations. I went to a Lowes once locally when they sent me a free $25 gc inexplicably (maybe they have some program where they look at who is spending what / where ) and was shocked at the prices too.

You are the lucky one then. In my area, every BBB store is strict as hell. They are now saying cash and real debit card only. Used to be able to get some nicer cashiers that don’t ask to see the cards, but now 99.9% will ask.

They need to come out with a Happy Haute card that has some decent retail/restaurant patners.

It’s like my old school lunch cafeteria. How many different ways can they combine the same overpriced crappy retailers into new and exciting combos, that offer thin value if any.

=======

I’ll still never forget — all these years later — when the school cafeteria near the end of the month when options must have been limited in pantry – the ‘Jimmy Carter’ Burrito. Where the lunch ladies took surplus peanut butter and suprlus tortillas and rolled them up together for our lunch.

Today we’d call that Happy Burrito.
