Update: We now have some datapoints that show these new DocuSign applications are still bypass 5/24. Good news for once, yay! Datapoints: 1, 2, 3, 4,. Share yours in the comments below.
Original post: One of the ways to bypass the Chase 5/24 rule has been to apply using a paper application via a business relationship manager. Reader Erik left a comment stating that June 1st was the last day for these paper applications and they would be starting a new process with e-mail applications and DocuSign on June 4th. I didn’t think too much of it but then yesterday I saw a report on reddit stating something similar (and another here). It isn’t 100% clear if this new process still bypasses the 5/24 rule or not, although at least one datapoint suggests it might not. We did see the ‘selected offers for you’ method temporarily stop working as well, so it’s possible something similar might happen here as well.
Another positive DP here. Currently at 7/24:
8/13: Applied via BRM and Docusign w/ 100k offer.
30 day message for 7 days on automated status line
8/20: Approved and card shown in account
Credit Karma hasn’t reported pulls yet so can’t confirm which bureaus were hit.
How does one apply through BRM, am guessing by going to a local chase branch? Does that workaround work for the reserve card (> 5/24)as well, or just business cards
One person was rejected 6/24, but not probably of 5/24 rule, because I just was approved. BRM submit DocSign after 3 days I was approved 7/24 with 9K.
Applied through BRM over email and approved 20k. She took a couple of weeks to respond though. Enquiries on both EQ and EX. lol/24.
applied for Ink Bus. Preferred, July 5, approved July 10, BRM and Docusign. About 18/24. currently have all the other Inks. plus 5 personal cards.
I did this with a friend of mine (so 2 separate apps). Both approved today. Exactly same timeline for both
7/3 DocuSign submitted through BRM who was the nicest person ever. Very high caliber banker. She knew about 5/24 and stuff. I was very upfront about wanting to bypass 5/24 and she appreciated my honesty (NOTE: BRMs have now been instructed NOT TO proceed with applications for businesses with less than 500K yearly revenue from their product specialists. Our apps were submitted right before this)
7/5 Experian hard pull (we live in CA FYI)
7/6 Equifax and Transunion hard pull (so they pulled all three but not on the same day)
7/9 Email from BRM saying our apps were approved. 25K limit, which is not bad since we are both only 25yo with limited, yet impeccable credit history. Although our apps are approved, they don’t show on our online account yet
Hope this helps
Ha… very similar to my experience. I am at 12-14 / 24 though…
How many accounts you have the past 2 years?
7/3 DocuSign submitted through BRM who was also nice.
7/5 Experian hard pull (I live in CA as well)
7/6 Equifax hard pull. I did not receive Transunion hard pull.
7/9 Chase app phone line still says that I will be notified in 30 days. No words from BRM yet…
I wonder if my application might be denied… It looks like the application did not get auto-denied so maybe this supports that DocuSign can bypass 5/24; otherwise, my application should be auto-denied, right?
Update, it says 7-10 business days… should I call them to talk with someone or wait until receiving the letter?
Just wanted to update that I was approved after submitting some documents over about my business! So it appears that DocuSign indeed bypasses 5/24 as I have 12-14/24 at this point. BRM definitely helps in this process and I would encourage people keep a good/nice relationship with them.
What documents did you have to send?
Proof of business and personal addresses, IRS EIN SS-4, and Articles of Incorporation with Secretary of State.
Anyone has details on the DocuSign application process? Can you do it via email through the BRM or do you still have to go to the branch?
Also curious on wording the request to the BRM so they go the DocuSign route without sounding like I’m demanding it. If you request to do the app over email/phone is the DocuSign the default option at this point or would they submit it electronically as before (and thus not send it to the special lending department) unless you ask for a DocuSign application?
Any idea if this works for other cards, like the Southwest?
Not usually possible on those cards
I flew with United and was wondering if I could complete one of their paper applications with special invite code and if this would bypass 5/24.
Anyone have any experience with this?
I applied for CIP via BRM using docusign paper app. I am at 8/24. I was approved and already received my card.
I completed my docusign application for ink business preferred a few days ago hoping to bypass 5/24 and get the 100k bonus. I began the original application during small business week end of april/beginning of may but was declined for too many applications. we shall see
I’m about 16/24 including 3 with chase in past year. Went to BRM while on trip to colorado in June and applied and got Ink preferred within few days though Docusign! Thank you BRM!
u already got 3 chase in the past 12 mo and u went for chase again w/ 16/24? u got ballz son. sounds like u dont care of a chase shut down. thanks for the DP.
It’s so tempting but I just don’t think I can bring myself to pull the trigger. At least not with more DPs on this.
Was approved for the 100k back in early july after going through docusign. Forgot to update.
