Hilton added a new benefit for their gold and diamond elite members on January 1st. You’ll now receive complimentary continental breakfast or an equivalent food & beverage credit when staying at Waldorf Astoria properties. The benefit also extends to up to one guest. Not a huge change and this was already being offered at Conrad properties. Hopefully this should put some pressure on other chains such as Ritz-Carlton to offer free breakfast to elites.

This doesn’t change all properties. I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria London last year and it had free breakfast for Diamonds already. I just used a status match challenge to get a temp bump since I was staying at several Hiltons during that trip. Definitely worth it for the lounges in Europe.
The Waldorf in London isn’t a Waldorf Astoria, it’s just a Hilton FYI.
You can say that again. It’s a fine hotel, but not a Waldorf. I can’t remember if we got breakfast free or not. Probably. We usually get the breakfast, except at the Waldorf Astoria. Though did stay in Edinburg W.A. and got the breakfast…
In the Hilton properties I’ve stayed at the equivalent amount is usually $10-15, which is usually not worth it since food is overpriced. I much prefer the benefits offered at HGI.
Fairmont needs to implement this also.
