My $100 bonus was available today from Upromise (purchased 3x VGCs on giftcards.com)

Did anyone ever get their $100 upromise bonus? Nothing in my account (asides from the ‘recent store visit’ showing). Sent them a message.

Nevermind, I see it pending now.

Has this happened to someone else? I’ve been clicking around from both united mileage plus and upromise. Ultimately I started from mileage plus and bought VGCs from giftcards.com and somehow it got tracked on both mileage plus AND upromise. I got confirmation email from both of them that I earned the bonus. Not gonna complain though.

Today I received an email: “You’ve earned cash back through Upromise Shopping” with the body saying “CONGRATULATIONS You’ve earned $100.00” dated 12/22/19. I had purchased three electronic VGCs through Giftcards.com on 11/10. The regular 1% CB showed up as pending on 11/23 and is still pending now, but with the additional $100. I reached out to Upromise earlier this month and they said it would take up to 10 weeks from the end of the promotion on 11/10 before the $100 showed up as pending.

Did VGCs from Giftcards.com. Points haven’t posted with the SW portal.

Are there any hotel booking sites.. Agoda, Booking.com, Airbnb, etc. on any of these? I searched United but didn’t see it. Seems like the easiest way to max it out for the holidays.

Still did not get the United bonus from October, so be prepared to wait a long time for these. And potentially have to submit tickets to get them. Be sure to keep good records of which date you did each bonus (and which player if you’ve got multiple in the game).

I just made a purchase through the AAdvantage portal for Raise (currently 6x miles!) and used a promo code I found on another website. The terms say that you will not get bonus miles if you used a promo code not found on the portal website (and I didn’t see that before applying the promo code). Does anyone know if this is enforced?

It’s always YMMV. They may enforce or it might slip through. For Raise many portals do list their discount codes so it’s possible it may work.

Thank you. I’m hoping if it’s Raise reviewing the purchase and not AAdvantage then I might have a shot

The portals don’t really have any power in this situation. Raise is the one who ultimately decides if they pay a portal commission on your order. If you used additional nonqualifying coupon code, they have every right to refuse to pay commission.

Update: my purchase tracked for the full amount. Will report back if the miles post.

Hmm, I wish I had done this instead of staples and later finding out that I don’t get the AA points or bonus. Still good to get 5x in URs, but 9x AA plus 1x on a card would’ve been much better! Oh well, live and learn!

Final update: my purchase posted successfully! Now that I know about the promo code rules, I likely will not do that again. Should have read the rules more closely!

Ethan,

To Clarify, Your AA Miles posted? (even with your special promo)

I was discouraged from this and other options on the portal as they all state gift card purchases are not qualified for the mileage bonus.

First-class wines for the coach prices….
I am wondering if the subsequent shipments would be coach-class wines for the first-class prices. 1500 miles for first shipment, 2500 for second, wines specially selected for entry-level wine drinkers.
