The Offer
- Signup for at least two months of Hulu and get a free $20 e-Visa gift card
The Fine Print
Our Verdict
The deal itself if mediocre being that Hulu usually offers 30-days free and this offer won’t give you the free 30-days. One nice part of this deal is that it specifies it’s work for returning subscribers as well.
The main angle here, though, is that Amex has a current offer of $25 off $25 at Hulu through 2/4/17. If you play the cards right, you can get two months worth of Hulu almost for free and net the $20 Visa gift card.
Reader Justin tells us to subscribe to the no-commercials plan for $11.99 and add Showtime for $8.99 which brings us to $20.98. Then switch the next month to the Limited plan for $7.99 and your total will be $28.97. [Note, some states might pay sales tax.]
While the Amex Offer deal mentions that you should start at hulu.com/start/amex, I’m pretty sure the $25 credit will be applied if you use a different page to signup as well, and reports indicate the same.
It would end up a $16 moneymaker after getting the Visa card, plus two months of Hulu. Not sure if it’s worth the hassle or not; might be worth it for some, especially if you will want to try out Hulu.
We posted this deal quickly in our Daily Deals page (a page that’s worth bookmarking, by the way), but I thought it was worth a dedicated post due to the stackability with Amex to turn it into a moneymaker.
