Hyatt has just announced two positive changes that will go into effect on January 1st, 2018. The changes are as follows:
- Reward/award night stays will count towards elite status. All free night awards are counted under this (e.g free night certificates & stays booked with points)
- Free night certificates you receive from staying 30 nights/50,000 base points (category 1-4 properties) and 60 nights/100,000 base points (category 1-7 properties) were previously valid for 90 days after receiving them. They are doubling this to 180 days of validity.
Award nights counting is great, as is the extension of the free night certificates. I would have liked the free night certificates to be valid for 365 days, but 180 days is still a vast improvement.
