Hyatt To Add Thompson Hotels Tomorrow, Announces Further Integration Of Two Roads Hospitality Acquisition & Promotions

Last year it was announced that Hyatt would acquire Two Roads Hospitality for a base price of $480 million. Two Roads Hospitality is compromised of the following brands: Vivre Hotels, Thompson Hotels, Destination Hotels, tommie (this brand hasn’t actually launched yet) and Alila Hotels & Resorts. Today it was announced that Thompson Hotels would be joining the Hyatt program on tomorrow (March 28th) and Joie de Vivre Hotels  would be joining on May 15th.

When Hyatt made the acquisition they noted that they would be taking over most of the hotel management contracts Two Roads Hospitality had, but not all. In practice with Thompson Hotels eight properties are joining the program and one hotel isn’t (Thompson Playa del Carmen). The other properties are as follows:

  • Thompson Chicago: Category 4
  • Gild Hall in New York:  Category 4
  • Thompson Seattle: Category 5
  • The Beekman in New York:  Category 6
  • Thompson Toronto: Category 6
  • Thompson Nashville: Category 6
  • Thompson Zihuatanejo: Category 6
  • The Cape in Cabo San Lucas: Category 6

We don’t currently have specifics on what hotels will/won’t be joining Hyatt from the other brands but expect those later to launch.

Promotions

Hyatt has announced two promotions:

  • Stay at any new brand (Vivre Hotels, Thompson Hotels, Destination Hotels, tommie and Alila Hotels & Resorts) by December 31st, 2019 and receive 2,000 bonus points. Maximum of 8,000 points on offer.
  • Stay at all four brands by December 31st, 2019 and receive a category 1-4 free night certificate. This is in addition to the free night certificate you normally earn for every 5 brands you stay at with Hyatt.

No registration is required for either promotion.

I’m excited about these additions and excited that Hyatt continues to expand. I really enjoy the WoH program and it pretty much gets 99.9% of my Chase UR.

Went to book thompson nashville today using points, which worked fine. tried using a suite upgrade certificate for the stay but they said the hotel doesnt support suite upgrades and couldnt tell me if/when they plan to integrate that. im a bit confused cause there are definitely suites available. seems like they would get those details sorted before they release the hotel for booking. should i expect other globalist benefits not to be the same at this property too? slightly annoying
