The Offer
- Green State Credit Union is offering a $100 checking bonus when you open a new checking account and complete the following requirements:
- 12 transactions per month which can include debit card transactions, ACH transfers, ATM deposits or withdrawals, check deposits or withdrawals
The Fine Print
- Open a new active checking account and receive $100. $100 bonus will be directly deposited once it is determined that the account is active and in good standing.
- Account must become active in the first 6 months after opening to qualify.
- Bonus will be paid on the 1st of the following month after qualifications are met.
- Active is defined as a minimum of 12 transactions per month which can include debit card transactions, ACH transfers, ATM deposits or withdrawals, check deposits or withdrawals. Offer is void if member already has an existing GreenState checking account or one was open within the last 6 months. Must be 18 or older to qualify. Limited time offer. No minimum balance required. Bonus cannot be combined with other promotional offers. Offer is for one checking account per individual.

During August & September 2024, a referral bonus is available: 100 USD for referrer, 100 USD for referree. Need to make 12 transactions (debit card, ATM, ACH, cheques, any size) per month until the bonus is deposited. Seems like a pretty easy low-energy bonus.

I got a mailer this week stating that the offer is back, this time for $200. Same requirement, 12 transactions in 1 month, which can include debit purchases. Must open by 10/31/2023.
It doesn't say it's targeted, but I can't find it on their site either, so YMMV.
Expired
Looks like this one may have expired - all I see is an account with a 5% intro rate on a rewards checking account.
Word to the wise: If I'm reading the fee schedule right, there is a $35 fee for a savings account dormant 6 months or more, and a $7 fee for every month a checking account is dormant 6 months or more. There is also a $25 fee for closing a checking account within 6 months. So you would need to move some money in or out of each account within 6 months of opening.

Chatted w/ rep because bonus should have posted yesterday. She said the promo code isn't shown on my account, and she will add it. Normally I would not pester them so soon, but the fine print was very clear that the bonus would post on the first of the month, so I wanted to be sure I didn't miss something.
Rep true to her word, $100 bonus posted today.
I believe membership to the ACC allows membership for those not in the IA or IL region.
Any confirmation on ACC (American Consumer Council) members being eligible?
