Important Requirement For 5,000 Free IHG Points (Make Sure To Follow @IHGRewardsClub)

Earlier today we posted about a deal where you can get 5,000 IHG points for free. You need to post a holiday picture with #HomeWithIHG #RewardsOffer #ad and also tag @IHGRewardsClub. One requirement we didn’t originally have listed is that you must also follow this @IHGRewardsClub (fine print states: ‘participant must follow @ihgrewardsclub and have a non-private Twitter/Instagram account to participate and maintain such non-private account for at least thirty (30) days after the Offer Period ends to be eligible.’) I don’t want anybody to miss out on the 5,000 points, so please make sure you’re also following this account. I’ve provided the direct links below:

Also make sure your account is not set to private. Apologies for not listing this requirement originally, I missed it in the fine print. Thankfully following the accounts now should qualify you, as I imagine they will just double check accounts are following this account at the time of awarding the 5,000 points. Also the picture must be of the person who owns the Twitter account, I saw some people posting photos of kitchen appliances and stuff. They might have some type of manual verification of this.

A few more notes from T&C:

>>post a Tweet/Instagram post that includes a photo of himself/herself
at home or at an IHG hotel

Have seen some people (including fellow blogger Gary at VFTW) posting pics on a plane or outdoors. Technically – this will not qualify.

>>Must not include any identifiable person other than the participant without that person’s permission

Again, a lot of posts with family members on the hashtag. Make sure you are the only one on the picture.

>>Must not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including, but not limited to, privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights or that constitutes copyright infringement;
and
>>Must not prominently feature trademarks, logos, or trade dress owned by any third party or advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind;

These look like another boring legal lines, but again – a photo, say, in t-shirt with the barnd logo will technically disqualify you as well.

You know why promotions like this are truly awesome? They lead me to log into these forgotten Twitter accounts and discover that both my wife and I have been religiously tweeting “#MembersGetIt #RewardsPoints #FindYourRoute #MRpoints.” every day since September 2017. And I can’t even find my logins to turn off that automation. The IHG rep is gonna be thrilled to learn that I’m such a huge fanboy with 450+ tweets about Marriott and 1 about IHG. XD

So we change Privacy under account profile, right? Thanks, I’m not a regular twitter user.

Thanks! Did that on one account, but forgot on the others. Went back just now and followed. Hopefully it’s OK that I did that after I claimed.
