This might be an ignorant question, but could you stack this with apple gift cards purchased from grocery stores? Or do the portals require a linked cc?

Do grocery stores sell Apple gift cards? I think you can only buy them from Apple.

I believe the cards sold in the grocery stores are for the App Store only. At least, I’ve never seen gifts cards that work at the Apple Store for hardware.

What about using a VGC? That way you get 5% on chase freedom from grocery store and get the Alaska miles to boot from the portal?!? Anyone have experience with it?

A real shame Apple online retail won’t price match to Amazon of whom they have a direct supply relationship. Amazon (which is a retail outlet for Apple) has 32gb 6th gen iPad for 25% cheaper than Apple.com.

That’s where price match protection comes in handy.

It would be like a extra $5 off the whole purchase, but would let you get the item now – from the best supplier – and maybe catch another sale in the next 2 months when prime day comes around or some other event.

Still mourning the citi announcement.
