Indian Plaza Premium Lounges Accepting Priority Pass Again

Update 2/1/21: Now accepting Priority Pass again. Hat tip to Live From A Lounge

Plaza Premium lounges in India are no longer accepting Priority Pass to access the lounge. Plaza Premium operates multiple lounges in Delhi, Hyderabad and one in Chandigarh. Plaza Premium has confirmed this on Twitter. It’s unclear what has caused this change. In other areas lounges have changed access availability due to reduced capacity caused by COVID restrictions but I’m not sure if that applies here or not.

The lines had become way too long with every credit card having access. Stood in line for 30+ mins recently at 5 AM on a weekday.

That’s sad. Lounge itself is so-so. But they serve good hot food and the dinner tables were placed 6ft apart. As the other user said, it doesn’t make sense that basic cards in India offer such benefits and priority pass doesn’t.

Amex still allows access through their Lounge buddy program. I was very surprised to see no lounges on the PP app, at first thought it was a network glitch. Later realized they are not allowing access to PP. Checked on amex lounge site, still shows.

That’s unfortunate to see. Those plaza lounges were actually nice with proper hot food being served and comfortable seating.

But, even basic credit cards in India gives the Plaza premium lounge benefits in partnership with Visa/ Mastercard.

Well that doesn’t help most of us that don’t have an Indian credit card!

The Indian Credit Cards only provides the Priority Pass membership but does not include Unlimited Free Entries in Lounges or allow companions for free. They are limited to Complimentary 3/4 Visits a Year.
