Issues With Last Day Of Chase Sapphire Reserve Bonus

Today is the last day for the Chase Sapphire Reserve 100,000 point in branch offer. Unfortunately something is going on causing these applications to error out. Reader Cole ran into this issue and was told to use the online application link and then the banker called in to get the 100,000 point bonus added to their account.

Obviously the morale of the story is to not wait until the last day to apply for the card, but that was unavoidable for some people due to proximity of a Chase branch. Remember that several other changes are occurring in branch tomorrow as well.

I applied in Branch, am at 5/24, have CPC.

Banker applied for me and application went through without any glitch but no instant approval.

It’s been 5 days now.

What should i do? Wait until they come with a decision or call Chase? Or call my Banker to call and find out?

Best strategy in my case???????

If you are at 5/24, you probably won’t be approved unless it was a preapproval. You can call you banker, I guess.

Thank You. If not approved i will close the CPC (chase does not deserve my money) and move the 300K to another bank (ex. BOA $900 bonus) and terminate Chase 11 years relationship.

Will keep You posted for DP.

Strange. Went into a branch today at 3:50pm local time (branch closed at 4pm), waited 15 minutes, and then the banker submitted my application — instant approval. Maybe they fixed the issues by the time my application was submitted…?

I think it’s just mass numbers on Chase’s systems. They have most branches in the East coast. Busiest times I’d imagine for all in-branch cc apps are 12-2pm EST or 9-11am PT. Most east coast branches close 2pm (few at 3pm ET), and CA branches close 4pm PT on Saturdays.

Looks like CSP pre approval was working fine.
Got your pass 5/24 today.

Way over 5/24 but wanted to give a shot anyways. I had confirmed that i was pre approved back in Dec but since those links were pulled, i tried to check if a link appears and is greyed out (or marked in green like a previous post). Nada, no link.

Banker applied for me and i got a pending decision.

Stopped in branch today and the banker encountered the system problem as well. Unfortunately, I need pre-approval to bypass 5/24 and, even online with banker approval for the 100K bonus, I’d get denied if I wasn’t preapproved.

I’m in Vegas with a buddy for the weekend and convinced him to go in and apply. He went to three different branches and was turned away due to no appointment availability. They are getting slammed with apps today it seems.

I don’t understand the people who wanted the 100k signup bonus and then still waited til the last day. Since you’re in Vegas you can gamble and try to win the $$ difference between 100k vs 50k signup bonus.

Some people like to be on the “edge” .
For them fun is not actually in getting it but is in the “Chase” 🙂

It’s the procrastinators. They like the thrill of making it within the branches’ hours on the final day; or, the horror of being turned away, or told that the branches are overwhelmed with too many people and the slow process of branch agents calling in card services to inform an app is an in-branch app to get 100k points.

Not everyone. I’m 5/24 until March 13th, but decided to give it a shot on the latest day possible to get approval, and it worked. The lines weren’t THAT long in NJ (from DC).

+1
5th card open date 3/12/15. Chase Reserve approved 3/11/17. Experian pulled, as always.

Do I need some sort of proof that I applied in Branch or I can just apply today and call in later to claim 100,000 points?
IIRC They did honor applicants when the application page was still alive past the stated deadline of online applications.

Let me be clear, they had me apply on the normal online link, but in the branch with the banker, and they put in the bankers numbers at the bottom on the application. As well they called some other department, etc.

i wouldn’t just apply online.. you must do it in branch.. or else you won’t have notes on yoru account for them to “honor”
