Chase further reduced the usefulness of Pay Yourself Back on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card with the rate mostly down to 1.15%.
- At one point we were getting 1.5 cents per point cashout options.
- For a while it’s been 1.25 cents per point.
- In Q3 2026, they lowered it to mostly just 1.20% cashout.
- Starting 10/1/26, they lowered it further with the main categories offering just 1.15% cashout via Pay Yourself Back.
Higher options still remain – here are all the options for Q4 2026:
- Grocery 1.15 cents per point
- Wholesale Clubs 1.15 cents per point
- Department Stores 1.20 cents per point
- Annual Fee remains 1.25 cents per point
- Select Charities remains 1.5 cents per point
The categories themselves are good, but lowering down to 1.15 cents is a hit. You can see the previous categories (expired) in this post.
We did a separate post with the Pay Yourself Back categories on all other Chase cards; I assume all of those remain the same for Q4 2026 and beyond. If anyone sees a change, please let us know.
