JetBlue has increased baggage fees, the new fees look like this (1st bag increasing from $35 to $39).
There is also within 24 hours pricing that is even more expensive. The old fees looked like this:
I’m not sure why you need an abacus to work out your baggage fees with JetBlue. JetBlue are claiming these fees are being increased because they are used by select customers and this would allow to keep their fares competitive. In reality this is just a way to raise revenue due to roaring fuel costs. The upside to this for airlines is that when fuel prices drop there will be no expectation for them to reduce these fees. Generally when one airline raises bag fees the others quickly follow suit. For example in 2024 JetBlue, United and American Airlines all raised fees.
