JetBlue Now Has An Award Chart For Hawaiian Airlines flights

JetBlue points have been redeemable for flights on Hawaiian Airlines for some time, booking required calling in and the price in JetBlue points was based on the cash price of the ticket (the same system JetBlue uses for it’s own flights). JetBlue has announced a sort of revamp to this partnership including an award chart. The award chart is as follows:

Unfortunately you still must call in to make an award booking on  1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583). It’s difficult to compare this change to the old system as before rates were variable, my guess is that it’s better value during peak periods when cash rates are high and worse value when cash rates are low. The average value of JetBlue points is 1.41¢ so for a west coast to Hawaii economy one way flight to better value under the new system the cash price would need to exceed $310.2 on the few searches I did this didn’t seem to be the case. That being said business class (really first class) fares did seem to be better value under the award chart. That’s good news for some as Hawaiian does run some lie flat routes.

Does a saver award need to be available in order to redeem or do miles cover whatever the cost is at the time regardless of award availability?

Hey, so I booked a Hawaii flight through JetBlue a few weeks ago when it they first started transitioning. I called every day for a week, and availability was different on each of those days. Most of those days, they didn’t have any award flights at all for the days I was looking for (first and second week of January). The amount of miles required was the same for any of the economy flights (JFK to HNL)

I think it might be worth reassessing your points valuation of JetBlue, just as a result of years having gone by since the Wandering Armean did his analysis. Based on rates I’ve seen I think the total could be a bit higher now, in the range of 1.5-1.6 CPP.

I have Gotten 1.8 on a round trip to Cancun.

Also if you transfer MR points to Hawaiian when they have the 25% bonus Its 64K MR points round trip east coast on Hawaiian. 32K MR points is much easier to get then 30K JB.

22,000 points is the one-way cost, so the post should say “… for a west coast to Hawaii economy ONE-WAY flight to better value under the new system the cash price would need to exceed $310.2.”

Thanks!
