Lyft No Longer Allows Double-Dip Partner Earnings with Delta & Hilton

Lyft sent notice that beginning June 30th they’ll no longer allow earning partner rewards with both Delta and Hilton, you’ll have to choose one or the other. By default, the system will choose the one for which you first signed up.

You can either choose 3x Hilton points on most Lyft rides or 1x Delta points on most Lyft rides / 2x Delta points on airport rides. Both accounts remain linked, and you can switch back and forth at any time.

Starting June 30, 2021 you may only earn points or miles through your Lyft account with one travel partner rewards program at a time. You can change which travel partner rewards program you want to activate at any time in the Lyft App. If you do not make a selection by June 30, 2021, you will be defaulted to the travel partner you selected enrolled in first on June 30, 2021.

I have no sympathy whatsoever for any company that now chooses to nickel and dime their customers in order to recoup a tiny amount of the massive losses suffered during COVID. I’ll occasionally toggle the preference back to Hilton to prevent point expiration but will default to Delta as most will probably do.

I chose Hilton, better earning IMO.

I think I’ll do HH for normal rides, but Delta for airport rides if I can remember, since it is easy to switch between them. Do you know if HH points count as “activity” to keep your points from expiring for 15 months?

From my own DP, Lyft rides do constitute as “activity” to keep your account active.

This sucks. It’s how I keep my low amount of Hilton points from expiring. I did choose Delta because I felt I was more likely to use those points.

So does a Lyft ride count as legitimate Hilton Honors account activity? I see more total points, so I know I got points from my recent ride, but I don’t see it posted under account activity. Have until Dec 31 2021 for Hilton Honors points expiration now BTW.
