Our Verdict
Meijer sells $200 Mastercard gift cards, and some locations sell $500 Mastercard gift cards, so this is a profitable deal especially when you use a card that earns at a high rate on grocery store purchases. (Just keep in mind, not all Meijer code as grocery correctly.) Limit of one is obviously annoying.

several meijer locations in oakland county are now requiring debit card / cash for gift card purchases ;-(
Meijer stores are big box superstores like Walmart and Target. I don’t think they’re all supposed to be coded as grocery. Wish they all were!
Meijer has always coded as grocery for me, on Amex, Discover, and Chase.
