The Offer
- Mint Mobile is offering an Unlocked Google Pixel 7 126GB and a 6 month 4GB Service Plan (no port in required) or 12 month 4GB Service Plan (port in required)
Our Verdict
Should stack with the AmEx offer as well.
Amazon is selling unlocked P7’s for $449. Combined with the flood of P7’s on Ebay, marketplace, etc, this would not be a good time to resell these.
Was just able to place an order for this today, 3/29 at about 12:30 p.m. Eastern
Interestingly, the AMEX offer gets triggered for the 2x amount. The AMEX offer is $15 off $115 two times. With this purchase well over $230 (2x$115) i was given the full $30 credit!
OOS again.
Did anyone get biz wireless credit by prepaying using the wallet feature? the $10 monthly credit?
Yes I do this every month. It charges 10.50 due to some recovery credit.
Can you explain further? Can someone who signed up for this offer expect to pay an additional $10.50 monthly fee on top of the $289 + tax we already paid?
Ordered a 12 month unlimited on 3/23, checked order status today and it said “no information available” or some such. Never received a tracking number but did receive a email receipt immediately after purchase. Called today to inquire about status and first rep said the order was placed today. I reiterated I made a purchase last week and the call was “escalated.” After many minutes on hold, the new rep also said the order was placed today and to wait a couple days for the status to update. Not very encouraging….
I simswapped an at&t sim into the phone haven’t activated the mint stuff not sure if i even need to since i only wanted the phone.
As everyone else is saying, back in stock. I paid $330 for it shipped (289 + 18.50 recovery + 22 tax). I assume port in is when I receive the phone
Are you planning to resell or use it long term?
Resell marketplaces are flooded with P7s. RIP resellers.
I’m honestly not sure. I wasn’t planning on upgrading from my pixel 6a anytime soon after I did the $300 trade in for a pixel 4a. I mean if I did sell the pixel 6a and broke even, that means I traded in a 4a + $280 (ish) for a 7 which I don’t hate… but then also i just wanted 4a + $100 for a 6a lol. I looked at specs to see if there’s something I reaaaaaly want, like 90 hz or wireless charging enough to keep it and I might. I was gonna buy this regardless just for the phone plan and just break even on the 7 is fine with me.
I ain’t a scalper, I only buy with the intention of using. But I’m not susceptible to capitalism. Bought a Valve Index for intention of using it, sold it at a scalped price because it was insane. Bought it again later and had it for a year+. Bought a Steam Deck and could’ve sold it at a profit but it was worth that scalped price and I am still using it.
I think I’m deciding to keep the Pixel 7. Features that did it in order of weight would probably be: 90 Hz, HDR, aptX, glass camera+improved screen, all around improvements
My 2 wherever cents is on GBoard
(no shipment info yet anyways)
Back in stock, ordered just now mainly for guaranteed security updates. Only a 7-day return window so have to check fast if I get a lemon that drops connection and calls. The Mint service offer is nice and I might even use it for data, but they are still vulnerable for sim-swap attacks so I am not planning to port my main phone number there.
Why is Mint Mobile more vulnerable to sim-swap attacks vs. AT&T, Verizon, etc…? Are you planning to resell after 6 months or keep as extra phone #?
We’ll see. I am mostly happy with my Pixel 3 after ~5 years. I am mainly worried about it not because the battery is getting old but because it is no longer updated to the latest Android. If this one holds up as well, I plan to keep it.
From what I read Mint is not getting its act together. Sim-swaps still happen with them and they do not care to train their reps better and/or provide a better security setup. T-mobile used to have that problem but they mostly fixed it a couple of years ago. No idea about ATT and others.
Website is super buggy, and my “failed” order ended up going through and causing a double order. It somehow exceeded my credit card limit to do so as well, which is a damn pain.
