My Three Ideas For Generating Some Income While Staying Inside (Credit Card Bonuses, Bank Bonuses & Swagbucks)

At the moment a lot of people are stuck inside without an income or any idea when they might be able to get back to work. At times like this I always find myself trying to do two things: reducing expenses and increasing income. Reducing expenses is way to individual dependent but I do think there are a few good ways for most people to be able to generate some additional income.

  1. Credit card bonuses. Regular readers of this blog will know that credit card issuers offer incentives to sign up for rewards credit cards. A lot of the rewards cards offer travel points or miles but there are some that offer cash sign up bonuses (it’s also possible to convert some miles/points into cash or even gift cards). Normally you’ll need to complete a minimum spend requirement to receive the sign up bonus, but some cards only require a single purchase to get the reward. You can read my somewhat dated introductory guide here.
  2. Bank account bonuses. Similar to the above but these are incentives for signing up for a bank account (checking or savings). The checking bonuses normally require you a direct deposit (e.g payroll or government benefit), if this isn’t easy for you to change then it’s sometimes possible to get around this. Savings bonuses normally require funds to be deposited and kept in the account for a set period of time. If you have liquid funds and don’t want to tie it up in a savings bonus, it might be best to look at a high yield account instead. You can read my somewhat dated introductory guide here.
  3. Swagbucks. Swagbucks is a ‘get paid to’ site. I generally find most of the things on the site a waste of time (e.g I don’t want to answer a survey for 30 minutes for $0.1) but they have some profitable offers as well. We usually try to post the better offers on the site and you can see some recent ones by clicking here.

If you’re a regular reader of the site none of this will be new to you, but you might have a friend or family member that could benefit from one or all of these. I’m sure readers also have some of their own suggestions that they will leave in the comments below (please no referral links though). I’ll be trying to work as hard as possible to provide useful content in the coming days and updating older content that is now more relevant than ever – as always we rely on reader submissions and ideas to thrive so don’t be a stranger. On this site we don’t use credit card or bank account affiliate links but we will earn some money if you use our Swagbucks link to sign up.
