Update 3/4/25: Offer is back at this link. (ht DDG) The offer doesn’t always show; for me it showed in Safari regular browsing, but not in Chrome and not in Safari private browsing. (Update: multiple readers in the comments report getting approved for the double points offer, and yet they see the $200 signup bonus offer showing in their login after approval. Apparently there is a tracking error with this offer; hopefully it will get resolved.)
Update 1/4/24: Chase affiliates are saying that this offer is ending soon
The Offer
Chase is offering a brand new signup bonus on the Chase Freedom Unlimited card:
- Signup for the Chase Freedom Unlimited card and Chase will match all cash back earned after your first 12 months of spending.
The card also offers 0% intro APR for 15 months from account opening on purchases and balance transfers. After the intro period, a variable APR of 20.49% – 29.24%. Balance transfer fee applies.
The Fine Print
- This product is available to you if you do not have this card and have not received a new cardmember bonus for this card in the past 24 months. (Editor’s note: If you have the OG Freedom or Freedom Flex cards you should still be eligible for the Unlimited card and for this signup offer.)
- Only Cash Back rewards earned by making purchases, including through other bonus offers, are eligible for this bonus. Statement credits and Cash Back rewards moved into your account through the Ultimate Rewards Combine Points feature or any other transfer are ineligible.
- (“Purchases” do not include balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.)
- Cash Back rewards must be earned by the end of your 12th monthly billing cycle to be included in the bonus. Please note that in some cases Cash Back rewards will not be earned until a billing cycle that occurs after the one in which a purchase is made, in particular when purchases are made near the end of a billing cycle. As a result, Cash Back rewards earned on some purchases made during your first 12 monthly billing cycles may not be eligible to be included in the bonus.
- Please allow 6 to 8 weeks from the end of your 12th monthly billing cycle for bonus Cash Back rewards to post to your account.
- To receive your bonus, your account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. See your Rewards Program Agreement for more details about earning Cash Back rewards.
- 5/24 applies to the Freedom Unlimited card
Card Details
- No annual fee
- Card earns the following points rates:
- 5% on Travel purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards (10% for the first year with this offer)
- 5% on Lyft through March 2025 (10% for the first year with this offer)
- 3% on Dining (6% for the first year with this offer)
- 3% on Drugstore (6% for the first year with this offer)
- 1.5% unlimited cash back (3% for the first year with this offer)
Our Verdict
This is an amazing offer for someone who has a lot of spend, especially for someone who spends a lot on Dining and Drugstores since you’ll earn unlimited 6x on Dining/Drugstores and unlimited 3x everywhere. It would be sweet if this offer becomes available via referrer link which would let you help a friend get a bonus along the way.
Unclear whether shopping portal earnings or referrer earnings will get doubled at year-end. The fine print is clear that cash back earned through bonus offers will be doubled, but cashback earned through statement credits will not be doubled. Based on the verbiage I believe portal and referral cashbacck would be doubled, but we’ll have to find out more. (I’m not sure how it ended up working 5 years ago when this offer was around.)
Note, someone with limited annual spend will do better signing up for the standard offer which gives $200 back after $500 spend + 5% cashback on Grocery/Gas during the first year, up to $12,000.

Anyone having any luck accessing the link? I’ve tried safari, private, chrome, and incognito with no luck. I’m ready to add this card to my setup but would like to do so on an elevated offer.
It tried Firefox also, both with and without being logged in to Chase (Firefox is the browser I use for logging into Chase), and it never showed me an elevated offer there either. And I’ve tried multiple times a week or more before, and it never worked then either for me.
Since all the “success” posts below are from over a week ago, and refer to applications made in the past, it’s possible that this offer no longer exists.
And the Danny Deal Guru site linked above, where this offer came from, has not been updated since March 12, and that update was only to report on what had happened on applications made by March 5, which was one day after this post at DoC was created. So that site also doesn’t make it clear whether the offer still exists now or not.
And while I’m seeing a $250 bonus offer now on all my browsers, the Danny Deal Guru site mentions seeing a $200 bonus offer instead sometimes, which also implies that the Danny Deal Guru site is not up to date.
I just received this note:
Dear Chase Customer:
Thank you for recently applying for the Freedom Unlimited credit card. You may have seen and applied for a Matched Cash Back offer but received a $200 offer instead. We’re pleased to let you know that we will honor both offers!
Please allow 6 to 8 weeks from the end of your 12th billing cycle for the bonus Matched Cash Back rewards to post to your account.
I just came here to say that I also received the above email.. I sent a copy as a reply to the original secure message conversation where the agent said that ONLY the $200 offer will be honored (although I sent them a screenshot of the offer mentioning unlimited double cashback)
does anyone know if instacart earns 3% ? for the regular users of the standard offer.
Wanted to provide a DP, I signed up for the unlimited cash back match, and also noticed the 20K bonus counter after $500 spend on my mobile app shortly after. I immediately messaged via secure messaging asking about the status of my unlimited cash back match. They said they will honor BOTH sign up bonuses.
“Andrew, we are aware about this issue and it is being corrected, please be rest assure you will receive both the offers:
20,000 bonus points after you spend $500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening and Matched cash back offer for the first year from account opening.”
Had the same experience. Chase is awarding both SUB’s on the card.
I quite simply cannot get the double Cashback offer no matter which device or browser I use. I’ve tried Safari, Chrome, and Edge on multiple devices. This is as of March 5th.
This was amazing and got me over a million UR last year. But now it’s much easier to use the US Bank Smartly.
I got this back from Chase today after I reached out to confirm what kind of sign up bonus if any that I really got when I signed up Sunday. It looks like things worked out.
Jim, we reviewed your credit card account and confirmed that you will receive a one-time bonus equal to all cashback rewards earned during your first 12 monthly billing cycles from account opening with your Chase Freedom Unlimited card.
Kindly note that only cashback rewards earned by making purchases, including through other bonus offers, are eligible for this bonus.
Additionally, cashback rewards must be earned by the end of your 12 monthly billing cycle to be included in the bonus.
Please know that bonus cash back rewards will post to your account six to eight weeks from the end of your 12 monthly billing cycle.
You’ll be eligible for the bonus as long as your account is open and not in default when we post the bonus.
“Purchases” do not include balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.
You’ll also earn the following:
– Unlimited 5% cash back (total of five points per $1) on travel purchased through Ultimate Reward
– Unlimited 3% cash back (total of three points per $1) on dining at restaurants and on drugstore purchases
– Unlimited 1.5% (per $1 spent) cash back on all other purchases.
We appreciate you being a Chase customer. Thank you,
You lucky SOB. For the rest of us, the deal is dead, it seems. So, you’d better spend like bat outta hell over the next 12 months. Be like Hank (‘the tank’) below here who racked up 750K UR on $500K of spend. That guy’s freakin’ mad.
Did you reach out via SM or call in?
I reached out via SM after receiving the $200 offer tracker. I sent them a screenshot of the double points offer and asked to fix it yesterday. this morning I received a note back saying they will honor the double points offer.
Are you aware that the Safari browser is not available for Windows?
So if it only works on the Safari browser, no one with a Windows computer can probably see this promo.
@Stefan – Don’t worry, Safari isn’t a fix for it…I’ve got a bunch of Macs here running Safari and I can’t get the page to load on any of them (in any browser) – it just goes to the standard $200 cash back offer, no double-fun just because you can run Safari. And FWIW there are reports that it does work if you’re running Chrome (although I don’t see it working with any version of Chrome I’ve tried). So there’s that.
He never said it only works in Safari. He just said that’s where he got it to work.
Read his post above carefully.
He actually says that it worked in normal mode on Safari, but not in Chrome at all, and not in Safari Private mode.
Meanwhile, I tried it in Windows on multiple browsers and none of them worked.
And as you can see from the reply to my post directly above your reply, some people aren’t getting it to work in Safari even if they do have Safari. So even Safari is not a fail-safe solution apparently.
Or maybe the offer is gone now? That’s the problem with repeating an offer from another site if that site doesn’t update as soon as the offer is gone.
I did read it, he said what worked for him. He says “for me it showed in Safari regular browsing, but not in Chrome and not in Safari private browsing.” That’s all he can say until data points from other readers come in. And yes, I believe it’s already gone. So many offers come and go, I doubt they can keep up with each one unfortunately.
Chuck, you should probably update this. It’s no longer working for most (if not all) of us. Someone at Chase clearly got the memo and reverted it back to $200. Oh well.
Changed at least twice:
The linked Danny Deal Site also says $200, but it hasn’t been updated in over a week, and now I see $250 all the time.
I’m smelling bullshit right now.
I applied for this Sunday morning when I saw it. It didn’t approve right away but they called me a few hours later and approved me over the phone. I’m looking in my account now and don’t see anything about cash back match. Even if it was a mistake on their part I don’t even see the $200 cash back when spending $500. I sent a secure message so we’ll see what they have to say. I would not have applied for it if it wasn’t shown. And, yes, I took a screenshot of the page when I applied but guess what…their secure message service says their file attachment feature is broke right now.
It’s almost as if… these companies… hear me out… can scam us… again, wait for it… with impunity… because… we ‘elected’ a con man… who sold us out.
Naw, that couldn’t be.
You’re 100% right. The only remedy for any and all problems is to attack President Trump. There are is no possibility of contacting the bank to sort it out (they took down their chat, telephone numbers, and various social media accounts), no arbitration, no small claims court, no BBB, no judiciary, no state-level banking regulators/commissioners, absolutely *NOTHING* will *EVER* and I mean *EVER* fix your CC bonus tracker having a typo unless Trump is removed from office, and many billions are once again spent on a paper pushing bureaucracy.
I have the same situation going on right now, I’ll reply if I am able to get the correct offer honored.
Let me know how that goes.. I am in a similar boat; applied using the link (took screenshot before applying) and then after approval $200 offer shows up. I sent a secure message along with the screenshot and after a couple of back and forth they came back with “We have selected the richer offer of $200 after $500 spend on the card”…!!!
