New Chase INK Business Unlimited 1.5x Card with $500 Bonus Now Live – INK Cash Card Continues to be Available

[Update 8/22/18: Looks like the $500 bonus is set to expire on September 20, 2018. (HT reddit)]

The Chase INK Business Unlimited Card is now live. (We wrote about it previously here.)

Direct Link to card application

  • $500 sign up bonus after $3,000 in spend within 3 months
  • Card earns 1.5% cash back on all purchases
  • No annual fee

The INK Cash card is still available, and every indication points to it staying around for applications since they have an image with the three card side-by-side, which indicates it’s entirely intentional. (Chase INK Cash also has a public $500 online bonus currently as well.)

As far as we know, 5/24 DOES apply to this new INK Unlimited card, same as the other INK cards. We’ll try to have a full review up sometime in the next couple of days.

Just a word of caution: seriously, think twice before applying for this card if you’ve been churning cards recently or have high credit balances showing on your credit report recently.

Hat tip to the many readers who let us know

It will be interesting to see if the CIR will be metal and also if they intro with 100K UR ( would be nice) Kicking myself that didn’t get a CSR for me of DW earlier in the game. Hopefully its just a CSR biz card, with same benefits.

Applied for the CIC on Saturday evening – as I didn’t know when the 50K UR for $3K/MSR would disappear, called to have the card expedited this AM. DW just met the MSR and then some for the CIP from March, I have another $800 for the Well Fargo Biz Platinum from the end of last month.

Thinking that a Pair of BofA Alaska biz cards should be next cards. Nice thing about the Biz cards is that no Plat vs Signature games, just 30k miles and $99 annual companion tix AF $75. So no Gamble about which card you may get approved was really pissed about the personal card and BofA games, till I read of lots of people that were under 5/24, 800+ scores, low/no Utilz and only had 1-2 cards with BofA get turned down or just get approved for a Platinum Alaska card (10K miles and $50 off ticket code). Frankly it was an insult to only be approved for a Platinum ( so much that I No longer have ML investment account liquidated it, and closed all our BofA accounts, terminated a 21 year relationship with BofA. Read a lot of DP that it is a crap shoot with getting Personal Alaska card with 30k miles + $100 credit and $99 annual companion ticket .

The new CIBU is similar to the Wells Fargo Business Platinum promo but the CIBU has lower MSR $3k vs $5k, and 0% APR is only 9 months vs 12 but n/c BT fee with welcome checks vs 5% with the CIBU/CIC. Only nice thing was no HP, pre-approved when opened biz checking account, odd as no prior relationship with Wells, and my CR were all frozen, so not even sure how they could have done a back door SP without a prior relationship. Not complaining though.

Wondering the same thing — is there a Chase Ink Reserve to correspond with the CSR. Can anyone share links to rumors/credible speculation?

what’s the definition of “churning cards recently”? What if one has slowed down, but has had a lot of chase cards in the past (like 10) and currently has 3 chase business cards and 2 personal open, and another 5 open personal accounts across other issuers?

I have legitimate buss. I have chase ink classic from 2013 which got converted to ink cash this Jan.
And early may I applied chase ink cash & approved & did 3k spend & waiting for 50k bonus UR.
Now I am thinking to apply for this one to get another 50k UR bonus.
I am well below 5/24 rule. Just 1 card in last 24 months.
Now, i have 2 questions:
1) will i be approved for this card?
2) 50K UR for Chase ink cash & another 50K for this one, in this year, will i get 1099 since it will be more than $600 cash value. Although i never reedem points to my checking a/c. just make it to card statement credit.

Thanks in advance. Need experts advice.

You should wait at least a few more weeks before you apply as chase applications should be 1/30 (1 every 30 days). You should be approved.

You won’t get a 1099 because credit card rewards aren’t taxed as long as they’re tied to a purchase (your MSR), they’re considered a discount off of what you’re already spending your money on.

Thanks Dave,
You really have better knowledge.
God bless you.

doc. finally, i see a solid warning in your chase post about shutdowns. ur job is not to babysit n00bs, but there are in huge numbers now. other chase posts rarely gave a stern warning except for me just yapping in the comment section. everyone should just stop apping chase at this time. its not worth it. let ur entire CR cool down.

William Charles

Huge numbers isn’t really true. I think you underestimate how big this hobby is and how small the shut down numbers are.

So this is not just $500, this is actually 50k UR, yes?

Can you please explain? Chase web says “cash” for sign-up bonus and 1.5x back.

I am currently 3/24, this month opened United Explorer Business. I have also Southwest Business, both cards with 5K limit by my request. And Freedom from the personal products. My question is what do you think it’s the best way to time opening both Ink Cash and Ink Unlimited? Thanks

Rob
Rob

Would applying for both INK (Cash and Unlimited) at the same time/day be okay?

If you’re under 5/24 sure bur apply for the one you want more first as the second has a higher chance of Denial.

Generally chase has a 1/30 rule for business cards, so once you apply for one business card, they generally auto deny any other applications for 30 days.

Hi Chuck. I don’t agree with cautioning churners about applying for credit cards.

If Chase isn’t going to let me churn cards then it isn’t a relationship worth having. 1.5 is nice on the CSR and so is primary rental insurance, and are some other co-branded benefits. But it’s not worth worrying about getting shut down when it still remains very likely I won’t get shut down when applying for a Chase card.

Another thing to consider is whether or not it is a blacklisting by Chase. Because if I’m shut down but they say I am welcome to apply again in 18-24 months, then that is fine with me. That actually forces me to not do their cards for that period of time and cool off with them. But the opportunity is there to come back. I don’t know if this is the case but somebody on Reddit said they talked to the people who made the decision and that’s what they said.

These shutdowns are not happening because of churners. They are happening because of bust out fraud and they have a team there dedicated to shutting down people they perceive as risks for bust out fraud. Perception being the key word (my interpretation).

At the end of the day I will mitigate my risk by not hitting Chase hard but churning is what I do and I hit it hard. I’m not giving up opportunities elsewhere to be at some arbitrary number 5/24 so I might not get shut down–even though people have been shut down for being less than 5/24 and people don’t get shut down for being 40/24. I’m still going to apply for a Chase card if it’s a huge bonus and if I get shut down, so be it.

I suppose making people aware of shutdown risk makes sense, but for veteran churners, I’ve come to the conclusion that it simply isn’t worth it to worry about a Chase shutdown. There isn’t anything we can do about it and it’s about playing the odds. The odds still say we’re not going to get shut down. Much of this game is about risk tolerance. No bonuses if no risk.

I agree that it’s all about risk tolerance but I’m not ready to kill my golden goose yet.

I agree..apparently having an auto loan and credit union accounts significantly reduces bust out risk from a statistical standpoint. Just saying….

haha. this guy…

so u dont agree with docs warning and also claim UR pts at 1-1.5 CPP? give me a damn break. not everyone values their chase relationship like you. its no wonder u dont care about a shutdown. enjoy your 1 cpp UR.

I don’t appreciate the tone of your response and I’m tired of your at times insulting remarks towards others here. This comment has been reported and your subsequent comments of similar nature will also be reported by me.

Surprised to be declined. Have an Ink Cash (biz 1) and an Ink Preferred (biz 2). Under 5/24, credit score >800. Applied for it under business 2. Went to pending, called reconsideration, and they asked a series of very detailed questions, which were easily answered as I have business uses. They came back and said I had too much credit and wasn’t using it enough. I said I was fine with them moving credit around rather than extending new credit, and that I could certainly see using the new card more, and they said nope. First time. I’ll take the denial letter when it comes into my banker and see what can be done.

I had a loan for my car $25,300, a student loan on which I owed $9,600, a second student loan of $22,780, and a Home Equity loan totaling $31,560. I got so confused with my financial life and thought it was the end when I lost my job until my neighbor introduced me to zeushackers01 AT outlook DOT com and they were so good with counselling and assisted with clearing all the debts in just few weeks and even improved my credit scores to 800 plus. I’ll refer them to anyone with similar issues.

I have this card with the green check mark under “my offers” on the online banking webpage.

You’re only at risk of a shutdown if you have been churning too many cards and/or MSing right? If someone last applied for a credit card in 2017 then they’re pretty safe?

Data Points:
Credit pull: Experian – California
Applied on line got 30 day notice.
Called same day status line (800) 432-3117 got 2 weeks will mail notice.
2 days later called Recon Line – Lending Services – (800) 453-9719
Said was pending and needed financial review. Took 10 minutes.
Said needed second approval.
Called next day they said needed more financial info. Took 5 min.
Said needed second sign off.
Called back next day said all looks good just needs second review.
Called back 2 hours said declined and needed proof of my business name.
I told them to look at my accounts as I already have 2 cards with same business name for past 20 years with Chase. Said no. Told me to go to branch and provide them with proof to be scanned to my account.
Not happy, called Chase Private Client help line.
Private Client rep connected me to Chase Credit Services.
Card immediately approved and sent to me rush.
Very nice and helpful.

I have Ink Cash and Ink preferred. I am under 5/24. But my application got declined.
They pulled Experian (782) and Equifax (786). I called the reckon line and they said I have too many active accounts and my recent business card with them is too recent. I got the Ink Preferred 3 months ago. I have balances on them around 55k and may be that was the reason otherwise it is only 2 business card and 1 personal card with Chase I don’t understand how it is too many?
