Earlier today both OMaaT and VFTW (now deleted) authored posts stating that Chase has introduced new rules when it comes to transferring points. A number of readers reached out asking what is going on, to put it simply nothing has changed. When transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to a travel partner you can only transfer points to a frequent travel program that is owned by you or an authorized user. The thing is this doesn’t change the fact that you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to yourself or another member in your household (points pooling). Late last year there was a rumor circulating that Chase would end points pooling, that has not been introduced as of yet and I haven’t heard anything stating it will be introduced.

I don’t want to add FUD, just a small DP: I tried to transfer from P2 CIP to two of my chase personal cards and it gave me an error. Can’t recall the exact message. I’m an authorized user in that CIP. Maybe it was a glitch, don’t know…will try again probably tomorrow
I just ran into a similar issue – was attempting to transfer from my CIP to P2’s Reserve but it returned an error of some sort. Ended up needing to transfer the points to one of her Ink accounts and then moved the points over to her Reserve from there.
It was the first time I’d transfered UR’s between us so I’d just assumed it was a normal workaround for Chase…
If I have ink plus, there is no “authorized user” but only “employee” available. so can i add my family to employee card, and then transfer my UR points to my family’s UA account? Thanks!

Hyatt allows point transfers so if Hyatt is your goal, you can transfer to your own Hyatt and then transfer to whoever you want.

My article was up for less than two minutes, and it was posted accidentally. Woke up from a Sunday afternoon nap, started looking at this and typing, did not mean to ever publish it.
Blah. You fooled me in those 2 minutes and I closed all my Chase cards, called them up and dropped some quitting your job style lines on the way out.

The problem is that it still shows up in feed readers, I wasn’t having a go at you I just don’t like the practice of deleting articles.

Everybody makes mistakes, I probably make more mistakes than most other bloggers to be honest. I don’t think a day goes by when I don’t have to correct something I’ve written.
Internet is forever. You have too much influence and should be more careful in the future.
With all that being said everybody makes mistakes occasionally, especially in the media field where everyone wants to be the one with the hot fresh news. Overall I like View from the wing and its articles.
