OffersBot Review – Free Tool To Automatically Enroll In American Express Sync Offers

Update: This no longer works

OffersBot is a relatively new tool, I learned about it when the creator, Kevin Rose (presumably not from Digg fame) tweeted me. OffersBot is a completely free tool that will automatically enroll linked twitter accounts with American Express sync offers. The first time you run OffersBot it will read all your past tweets to see which Sync promotions you’ve already enrolled in, this can take a bit of time, but at the end of this it will automatically tweet all of the offers you’re not currently enrolled in.

After the initial set up OffersBot works by scanning the @AmexOffers account for any new hashtags, or changes to existing hashtags. When it notices a change or new hashtag it will tweet this out to all twitter accounts enrolled with OffersBot. It will detect a new offer as soon as the first person successfully uses a hashtag. This is best illustrated with an example:

Every American Express card that you have will need it’s own separate twitter account (as you’ll need to link your twitter account with an American Express card. This can be done by clicking here). Make sure you create a new twitter account for this. Chances are nobody wants to see your #amex tweets, so create a new seperate twitter account for each credit card you want to enroll in American Express offers.

You can see all of the current offers in the OffersBot system by clicking here.

Downsides To OffersBot

  • The amount of cardholders that can enroll in any offer is limited, by automatically enrolling in offers that you potentially won’t use you’re taking an offer that somebody else might be able to use.

F.A.Q’s

Is It Safe?

You’re only giving OffersBot access to your twitter account. You should have created a brand new twitter account for the purposes of Sync deals anyway, so you really don’t have anything to risk. There is no way that OffersBot will be able to access your American Express credit card details.

You can also unlink your account from OffersBot at anytime by revoking access on the Twitter apps page.

Can I Integrate It With Tweetdeck?

No, tweetdeck does not have an API so it cannot be integrated with OffersBot or vice versa. The creator has stated that if he was able to integrate this, he would.

Are There Any Alternatives To OffersBot?

Yes, Wandering Aramean offers Sync Assist (for AmEx Sync Promos) which is similar. The downside to this tool is that you can only have one linked twitter account (and thus one linked card) with the free verison. Otherwise you need to pay $15 per year. It also seems to search for offers in a different way and in some cases you might miss out on offers. You can also use tweetdeck to do it yourself, I’d recommend reading this post by Frequent Miler for more information.

Final Thoughts

I think OffersBot is a smart free solution, that being said I’m going to use it alongside my tweetdeck set up for the moment. That way I can have the peace of mind of enrolling in offers as soon as I see them in case OffersBot doesn’t pick them up automatically.

Make sure you follow us on twitter and keep an eye on the American Express offer section of our website, we regularly find AmEx offers before they are officially released so you can ensure you don’t miss out. What are your thoughts on OffersBot? Will you use it? If you could request any features, what would they be and why? Let us know in the comments below.

I have few cards with amex logo like Citi aadvantage amexa, serve, bluebird. How do I link all amex cards in one twitter or amex offers facebook account?

I have citiaadvantage amex on amex offers FB but found no option to add other amex cards.

Thanks

You can’t. You’ll need to create a unique Twitter account for each card.

Wandering Aramean has had something similar for quite awhile, SyncAssist. been using it and it works well.
