Went to one OD, young cashier said legally he can only sell me 1 card, he grudglly allowed me to buy 2 cards as one time courtesy, lol. (After i explained to him, you have to get at least 2 cards to get the discount)
Was’t there another post a couple of days ago about mastcard gift card not working as debit (unless was under $100)?
Did they change something on the MC giftcards? Have been easily able to liquidate before on online rent payments, but now when trying to add them get the message unable to verify address.
I have had the same issue across multiple sites (tuition, charity, etc.). Haven’t used them organically before so wasn’t sure if this was new or not. They do work at some online sites but not others. The failures I get when they fail have to do with address verification.
Add them to your paypal key. It will usually denied on first attempt if you try add them to your paypal key, the second attempt will mostly pass after that paypal will need to verify your card via a verification transaction code of 1.95 and will usually refunded in 3 days. I also use them for rent payment

I would say it is more accurate to say Publix isn’t hard coded at this time. Otherwise it is YMMV depending on whether the cashier asks to see the card. I suggest anybody doing this test the waters before going all in.

Yeah, I hit my limit last week with the Staples Visa promotion. I didn’t even venture our for most of my cards 12 month cycle due to the pandemic, but I can now sock drawer the card until it resets.
